Us the Series Ep. 9 | Full Length Reaction

I'm 2 days late, but I finally made it 😭The sniff kisses are so cute. Kawi really has the weight of the world on his shoulders and I know as a fellow older sibling, all that responsibility and just knowing things that you shouldn't have to know really weighs on you. He is definitely spiraling. Nene is not holding back, she is just dishing it all out. Rak is like the sun. She just brings light and warmth into everyone's lives despite her own troubles. Everyone around her needs that. She is a so wondeful. I'm glad Pam is finally getting it off her chest about all the stuff because it was certainly weighing on her too. Despite the unfortunate things that keep happening to her, it's nice that Rak is by her side to try and hold her up through it all cause that's a lot deal with.

This was a hold your breath episode because you knew Nene was lurking legit everywhere. She dropped the bomb on the parents, on the half sister, and Rak seemingly is next. What is so amazing about this show is the perspective that this show gives every character. Although Nene is trying to destroy Khem's family you see her perspective and see what he did to her and her mother. We see Pam holding all these secrets and her plan with Nene. We see Kawi with holding his Dad's secrets and then his own demons that his father ultimatley contributed to. This show is just so well done. We are in Episode 9 but the drama just keeps going and ramping up in all different directions like M&D said. Looking at this show in the beginning to where it is by Episode 9 is night and day. It's just a very well developed, beautifully acted show and so happy that is being discussed again a year+ after it initially aired and before Moonshadow comes out.

This episode seemed like a slingshot of emotions. The moments of extended pauses, the music, the surroundings just add to the tension and angst. For me my fav part was when Nene confronts the dad and mom at the hospital. When she addresses them she first greets the mom as Dr. Orn then calls the dad Mr. Khem- denying him first recognition and then ignores his title of Dr. . It was a good slap in the face for that self centred creep. Nene is really out to try and stir up shit. I agree with M&D that she underestimates the power of love and kindness that Rak has for Pam and others. I love it when a show can get me so invested in the story and the characters where a range of emotions are drawn out. Not all gl’s have done that. For me —The Loyal Pin, Pluto, Hometown Romance, ClaireBell, and Us have hooked me in. Each one has either made me laugh, or cry, or scream, or cringe, or sigh, or be angry. Sometimes in one episode or in every episode. The combination of writing, acting, music, and cinematography give it that winning appeal.

I'm sure you've gone back and watched the episode again by now, but just in case you haven't, Kawi confirmed that Grandma *did not* have a stroke. She passed out because of the anemia, which was ultimately caused by the cancer. But no heart attack or stroke. I've been dreading this episode. You always talk about how much you love khun yai every episode, so knowing this reveal was coming was so sad! It's kind of crazy really, you guys keep (totally logically) assuming the big drama would have come from Kawi, but it turns out he really *is* and angel, and the drama was this completely unexpected reveal. 😅 The show really does have fantastic writing. It's warm and beautiful without being saccharine or or unbelievable. It doesn't feel like everything just gets magically fixed, but it also isn't one of those shows where everything is drama and misunderstanding. It's perfectly between those two. (I heard you mention Kawi's character from the novel too. I was hoping you wouldn't find out how much of a shitbag he is in the novel, because he's such a sweetheart in the show! Thank god the show writers went to absolute town with the artistic license 😂)

sad these reactions are coming to an end, but I can't wait for moonshadow too. Emi and Bonnie are giving conflicting information on how far along they are lol but they've been filming since mid may.

Loving your reactions so far and how much you got so invested in the story. The drama on this series is... like real life drama. Like its an everyday thing that could happen to anyone. Its not something exagerated or over the top just for show. And you got the Ep10 cliffhanger... here we go. Enjoying rewatching this series with you so much. Thank you!
