To answer your questions about the post discussion confusion: "Yes. Those are some interesting statements made by the characters like Dr Luomen (old man at the end) and it's good you're noticing those moments, including his nonchalant attitude that maomao behaves similar to him like in ep1 when she got kidnapped" and "Also yes, You are being thrown easter eggs. You'll get your answers eventually, trust the show similar to the writer of AoT to deliver on answers when you earn them :P ... including answers to things that you didn't catch on the first watch of some of these episodes... but don't get too excited because you will also many many more questions spawning from every answer you get.. like AoT mysteries ;)" @Meesh, Similar to AoT, I strongly suggest you pull out your notebook and start taking notes of those confusing moments or "wait what" moments or anything that seems odd or too convenient or just overall character motivations and behavior patterns. The show has continuity and is not "episodal", as you noticed now with the the continuation of the "who done it" with the poison soup and the hand burn marks, and the vague chitchats between characters. Side note: Also, i find it hilarious that maomao is so clueless that usually the hairpin means that the man she's escorting is to go out on a DATE with, to be able to socialize, but she instead hooked him up with her found-family sister from the brothel. That's why gyoukuo was laughing and intentionally being vague to mess with Jinshi because she's VERY observant and a socialite: "oh? mao mao? oh yeah, she's out with a guy (tihihihihi) for 3 days (whistling)" Meanwhile jinshi's just having an existencial crisis that his newfound interest (whether genuine or as a "pet project") is being yoinked away by another man under a presumable date, while he was working so hard to finish his paperwork early to go chitchat with maomao lmao...
1:40 Apothecary diary was actually heavily requested by many, and I was probably one of the first since season 2 aired a whilllee back, but i'm sure others like the Mangos were also pushing for it. I don't actually remember if it made it to a RECENT poll, but i remember being heavily surprised that it's finally getting the attention it deserved! (and you have no idea how good this ramps up especially S2)
