I also think the first eps were better, but yeah in general the writting for it was very different from what I was expecting as someone who watched the "original" Nanno since 2018 Becky and the cast in general did a good job with what they were given anyway If for some reason she decides to come back as Nanno I really hope they get a better script bc even for some ep they could have done better at the story and implications that Nanno could have brought to the characters

to be honest EP3 was peak....from EP4 onwards it just went downhill for me. Becky as Nanno was amazing, she carried the entire series. However the script, storytelling from EP4 onwards fell short for me and a bit disappointing. I hope if Becky comes back as Nanno for the next one, they better hire better screenwriters and directors

Based on Becky’s comments I don’t think she’s coming back. They mentioned a next “semester” though at the end of the show so maybe it will be another new Nanno if they do a season 2. I thought Becky was great. The Cyber-bullying one was my favorite episode, with the way they portrayed the online battles as if it was real life. Over all both the writing and directing could have been better/clearer, but I’m still glad I watched, if for no other reason then supporting Becky and Thai entertainment. This is also completely unrelated but I just finished rewatching Warrior Nun. Did you ever watch that show? Would have loved to see your reactions to that when it first came out.

I thought the series was shot well and Becky did a good job. I think they choose good themes. The writing is just not compelling enough. Episodes are either decent, mid or terrible. I want episodes that wow me.

I love that you keep it real and speak your minds. I didn’t like the series either—the themes were interesting, but they weren’t developed well. Becky’s acting was great, as always; it’s a shame about the writers and directors she had to work with. I really love Becky. Some episodes were good, but most felt like they were missing something. Thanks for watching the series with us, and as always, I can’t wait to see your next reaction. I’m trying to catch up too, slowly but surely. Keep up the great work, and never change. Everyone has their own taste, and I love that you express yours honestly.

I’ll be honest here-like many - I watched this because of Becky❤️. Will I watched season 2 (if there is one) -not sure. What I found myself doing in each episode was trying to catch the track they were racing around on. It seemed fractured and sewed together in a zig zag pattern. It was always a brain drain to figure out what was real and what wasn’t. Is this happening in the present - past- future? I do agree with Capstan50g with the thought on appreciating different writing styles doesn’t mean I want to choose this genre again. Big shout out to M&D for your honesty and as you say ‘keeping it real’. I like your take on the purpose of a reaction channel. Having the forum with varying opinions is fun, enlightening and interesting.

For some context, the first two episodes of RESET are directed by the same director that's directing the first two episodes of GFNW Season 1 respectively :D others are new directors

People's tastes differ and this series does not make me drool - it even does not make me sit on the meal table. But hey, that's just me. I love reading analysis of show's pro-fans, finding/learning about the little bits I missed while watching the episodes. But again, I got the purpose in all the episodes, their progress did not impress me. I even got upset at the Only Nanno episode where I think the idea had so much potential but it was merely a scratch on the surface. To me, Episode 2 was gold and while I can find improvement points with it, I'd be sat to watch it as a whole movie. It gave me the feeling of watching the first "Saw" movie. Will I watch season 2? No. Will I watch season 2 if Becky makes a comeback? YES! Shoot me, I am a fan of her acting 😊

Agree -writing is pretty bad and perhaps 6 directors for 6 episodes makes it not cohesive at all. They tag sky along each ep, but perhaps only link his purpose in the last ep to the 1st where despite being bullied to the point of trying to s word himself, he still chose light and forgiveness when given the chance. Still in many of the stories, they have failed to tell an interesting and riveting story - the idea is there, but it only lead the audience to total confusion. One thing i have to comment is the Acting - the actors actually all did a pretty good job and Becky ofc had giving it her all. She was sick and in the water for 5-6hrs for that last scene - it was very tough. She was filming 4elements too and one time after 3 days of shooting as Nanno, director Fuse ask Beck to put down her character first, because her eyes were still showing Nanno 😅 If they are shooting a season 2 with Becky - i pray to the gods for better writing and directing.

Although I did enjoy this episode more than the last two (I didn’t like the last two 😅), I was still a little disappointed mostly with how the GFN team handled Sky’s character. If it was already established that Sky knew so much about Nanno and he was fine with her going against his bullies alone in the first episode, then he already should’ve known she was a supernatural being who’s immortal (or maybe I misunderstood and he didn’t know). He didn’t have to fight. But I think because of the story and the lesson Sky’s character represents, he had to fight even if imo it wouldn’t make sense. I can see what the GFN team was trying to convey with Sky’s character and the overall story but I think this season could’ve been better. Some episodes like ep5 could’ve been better executed. Becky did a really good job with her version of Nanno. I do hope the 2nd season will be better.

I will say I happened to enjoy the final episode. After the last couple of episodes I had no hope for the finale but it was better than what I expected. Becky’s performance was the highlight imo, and honestly all the actors did a great job. Even though this genre isn’t my vibe if there’s another season I’ll still watch it mostly to support Becky but also to see if they work out some of the mistakes they made for this season, I’m inclined towards believing they were still figuring out how to make this new version on Nanno work, after all it was a short season with many people getting involved in the production…. For the most part I didn’t enjoy this season (the ending was interesting imo, Sky’s death has the potential to make an interesting second season) but I think it deserves a second chance, only if it’s Becky who’s coming back as Nanno xD

This reboot wasn't great, sure. Had it's ups and downs. Which is unfortunate, since the original was so very good. If it does get a second season, at least there's plenty of room for improvement.

I want to commend you both for sticking with the series till the end even though it wasn't really to your taste. I could tell going into this episode you were really trying to give it a fair shot. As someone who watched the original it's been interesting to see how they tried to make this "Reset" different. To me they have both succeeded and failed in doing so. To me the consistency of how they were trying to tell the stories was not successful. The production team was the same for the original and reset (SOUR bangkok). The writing is a team of writers. Some from the original but missing was the head/primary writer (Kongdej Jaturanrasanee). They were missed. For me the writing lacked the suspense of the original and Nanno's characters personality was more inconsistent making it harder interpret motivations. The positives in the series for me was the acting, and not just Becky. I love Becky and have an admitted bias. I think she was great, both a quirky and creepy characterization of Nanno. But the supporting cast was also strong. I still think using different directors for each episode has been a success. The original also did this and to me it keeps the episodes fresh because structurally the stories told in each episode are similar. Some episodes shined with this more than others. Episode 3 was my favorite I enjoyed the creativity of that episode a lot. I enjoyed that Nanno had more feelings, I wanted to see it developed more (hard to do in 6 episodes). And last I enjoyed the willingness of the show to try and approach contemporary issues and make you think about them. The balance of episode story line and approach of modern problem/current affairs was not always completely balanced. But I enjoy being challenged in this way. It is not just telling a story like most series do. Overall, this was not my favorite series I'm watching. It's not something that is going to wrap me up in the story and be dying to know what happens next. It's not that kind of show. However, if they come out with another season, I would definitely watch it.

I personally think the series as a whole is nice but this season was actually not up to my expectations don't know if it's bcs of the différent directors or what but am waiting for the next season hope the work on it I still watched it all because of my girl Becky though thanks for your reactions

Capstan50g · April 20, 2026

I really think the divide between the M&D fans and M&D's disappointment in this series is a matter of storytelling style. Since the latter half of the 20th century, we audiences have been educated to watch for subtext and metaphor in films and series; that's what we're comfortable with. GFNW: The Reset uses a lot of allegory, where the characters and situations in the schools are stand-ins for adult figures in society at large. It's a literary style that's used by George Orwell in his book Animal Farm, which was widely praised in the past but has lost its stature in recent years and is even being rebooted as an animated comedy. I respect everyone who didn't like the series, but I believe it's a mistake to blame it on poor writing or direction. We just all have our preferences when it comes to storytelling. Thanks for reacting to this series, M&D!

I feel bad for Becky and anyone that put effort and hard working that scriptwriter and director .

C
Cleone · April 20, 2026

Spoiler for the first GFNW: There was a girl who was killed and she got Nanno`s blood then became immortal too. Maybe that`s what they are going to do with Sky. Which I hope they don't cuz Sky actually got what he deserved for being a stalker. Becky was phenomenal as an actress; the script could be better.

J
Jess West · April 20, 2026

Yes, Girl from Nowhere is supernatural. Who knows what will happen? Dying in a supernatural show does not necessarily mean the character is gone.

Most of the people who watched this season have the same opinions as you : scripts were not good, Sky annoyed everyone, and the only great thing about this series is Becky as Nanno. But there will be a season 2, it was basically confirmed by the production compagny (OneD) and Becky's compagny. Despite the critics, it did really well in Thailand and globally.

B
Bee · April 21, 2026

I assume Becky auditioned for the role without reading the scripts - even a single episode end to end. The show has its own reputation so she chased it. Unless she and her team is not happy about the outcome (the reach, the perception, the criticism), I think she will star in Season 2. But this time, I hope/believe her presence will be heavier during production to comment on what's not working.

K
KyWins · April 20, 2026

True character isn't defined by your surroundings, but by whether you nurture or neglect your internal light "Inner darkness can persist despite outward brightness (case of Paradorn), just as inner light can endure despite outward gloom ( Sky)- this intrigued Nanno and because she kept thinking of him, he was able to find her, she called him by her mind. But I like most, thought the writing could have been better..

A
Adam McCabe · April 20, 2026

So spoiler free thoughts from me……….it was ok 🤷‍♂️ While I did really enjoy Becky’s performance I much prefer the original just as the writing was stronger. Felt this last ep was a step up from the last couple of episodes though. Also still not a fan of the whole Sky thing. They did something in the finale which was similar to something they did in season 2 of the original, so we’ll see if that gets followed up on in a potential season 2.

I think she would take this again if there was a season 2. To be honest. It actually did well in viewership. Even with mixed reviews. If there is a season 2, I would like for Freen to be in an episode.
