I think Selim was in the tunnels under Briggs and then went back to central. Remember how the soldiers found the wounded guys in the tunnel and they were yelling that "it'll come back"? It cut to a shot of the shadow/eyes, and it looked like it was about to attack the soldiers, but then the eyes looked in a different direction and it stopped its attack and disappeared. I think it was Selim noticing Hawkeye at the palace. It seems like he can sense stuff across long distances through shadows; remember how after he revealed himself to Riza he told her "I'll be watching you... through the shadows" . So I think he like zipped between places super quickly in the form of a shadow, and took the form of Selim again before anyone noticed. Or, almost anyone. Riza sensed him behind her before he managed fully to change back. Makes sense, she's a sniper so she has crazy senses 😅
Full of shit is right! Kimblee was actually sent to kill her parents but Scar got to them first. (This is never mentioned in the show)
I personally don't think Kimblee lies at any point in his explanation. We know Kimblee respects those who hold to their beliefs, whether they're contrary to his own or not. Being sent to kill them (heck, even if he *had* killed them) doesn't mean he can't respect their dedication.
to help with your 24:20 discussion without spoilers: Selim/Pride was in the tunnels attacking the briggs soldiers. And if you pay attention to the eye shapes, he was about to attack them when he sensed something all the way in his house from the shadows (Hawkeye walking in), so he had to prioritize dealing with Hawkeye in case she was up to no good, vs attacking random soldiers. He seems to be able to move everywhere and anywhere where there's shadows, that's why he told Hawkeye that he's watching her at ALL times, from the shadows.
