So many of the One Piece anime reactions Im following now got interested after finishing this live action season. Fingers crossed you end up in that boat sometime soon.

My One Piece experience was like yours. I tried the anime and watched several episodes, but just couldn't stay with it. When the live-action came out, I gave it a shot and found everything I liked about the anime with none of the stuff I didn't like. I think you're going to enjoy it.

This was such a good adaptation. I started watching the anime after seeing the show. About 200 episodes in just in time for S2. lol Excited to finish this with you guys! You'll love it.

Okay so just like you two, I had absolutely ZERO interest in One Piece when I first heard about it. The cartoonish art style and its goofy comedy was the complete opposite of what I’m into. However, this series is now my favorite of all time. The emotional high points and the character moments of this series are some of the best in fiction period! The live action is honestly pretty different from the anime in terms of “feel” but I still think they did a good job with it. The anime is over 1100 episodes long and they have lots of pacing issues that ruin the momentum of the story and I do feel like the live action is probably the best way to experience the overall vibe. Many are sceptical to one piece, but loads of them end up doing the "one piece is the greatest story ever told" - though nothing is loved by everyone so i wouldn't stress whether to watch the anime or not. I think OP is the only anime I like more than Frieren. The live action is great, but it is impossible to do some of the things the anime can do. In the anime you get the time to really get to know the characters and the world - the more time you spend on something the more invested you get..

Amazing! I'm in the exact same thread as you ladies, I never got into the anime... Watched Dragonball, Naruto, Bleach, but just never got into One Piece. Knowing that it gets epic in the modern seasons i tried many times, but could never get past the first couple arcs. If I'm being honest I think it had to do with the art style in the beginning. So this show reduces that barrier of entry HUGE, while also at least from a design perspective stays true to the wackiness of the Anime, which you'll see more and more as the series goes on. People will complain its not the anime, but I have heard major anime fans (ones with One Piece tattoos) saying this does well... they don't show things in the same order as the anime, they retell it slightly different, but most people who aren't being elitist and saying you have to put in that time with anime, will say this adaptation brings the FEEL of One Piece, which is the most important thing. Looking forward to re-watching this with you two!
