Sync Guidelines
Our videos are edited in a watch-along format, which means you’ll need your own copy of the film or show to sync with us.
We will always count down 3… 2… 1… START — press play exactly when we say “Start” to stay in sync.
To follow copyright laws and give you the best viewing experience, our reactions must be paired with your own copy of the content. We take copyright very seriously, which is why we do not provide full uncut episodes or movies. Even if you see other creators doing it, that doesn’t make it legal — sharing full studio content crosses into a copyright gray area that we’re not willing to risk for our channel.
Here are some recommended ways to watch along with ease:
• Dual Monitor Setup:
If you’re on a PC, using two monitors allows you to keep the reaction and your show/movie visible side by side.
• Split-Screen Viewing:
Most devices — laptops, tablets, and even some phones — allow split-screen mode so you can watch both videos together.
Using these methods will help you stay perfectly in sync and get the smoothest, most immersive reaction experience. 😊

The club scene actually has two different “realities” happening. At the beginning (t.A.T.u. version of the song) → that part is the present. They’re really there, but not openly looking at each other. Instead: • Shane notices someone connected to Ilya • Ilya notices someone connected to Rose They’re aware of each other, but indirectly. Tension, orbiting, avoidance. When the song switches versions → the timeline shifts. Now: • Shane and Rose in the condo = present • Ilya alone in the bathroom = present • The club scenes = memory They are not literally back in the club together. What we’re seeing is them remembering that night while dealing with intense emotions in the present. That’s why the club shots feel dreamlike. They didn’t actually stand there staring at each other like that back then. It’s memory + current feelings blending together. They’re mentally inserting themselves into the past. And paired with the lyric “this is not enough,” it shows what’s happening emotionally.
The first name moment is huge. Right after their intimate scene, it’s the first time they use each other’s first names. That shifts everything. Before, their relationship could stay in a safe box: rivalry, physical, separate from “real life.” But names make it personal. For Shane especially, that’s terrifying because it means he cares. Him pulling away isn’t about lack of feeling, it’s panic over feelings getting too real. That’s when their arrangement stops being emotionally safe.
lmao the faces that Dee makes as soon as a sex scene starts, i would be screaming "HOMOPHOBIC" if it were a straight guy reacting or straight girl for that matter. But with ya'll its hilarious
LOL
Yes, they 100% switched places. They said each others first names in that moment on the couch and Shane realized that he was really falling deep in love with Ilya and he retreated to save himself emotionally because he knows him and Ilya can't actually be together in the light right now. Whereas Ilya is usually the one closing himself off after they have sex, he actually wanted Shane to stay this time.

Don't worry the last two episodes are the best, and by far the most emotional and wholesome.
Oh and your reactions to the sex scenes are absolutely killing me. I'm laughing so hard and it's literally 2:30am, lmao. Season 2 and 3 had been confirmed and they are filming the next one this summer!
Okey, here I come. I've rewatched this show 18 times and I have so many insights, it's honestly killing me. First of all, great reaction. Thank you! I think you'll absolutely love the last two episodes. Ilya's character growth is beautiful. To explain the sofa scene before Shane leaves... It's the first time Ilya tries to open up. First time he is asking him to stay, first cuddling, first real longer converstations, first meal together, etc. It's also the first time they call each other by their first names. You can see the moment Shane realises it. He learns that the feelings are mutual and it's getting too real, so he freaks out. What breaks my heart in that scene is Ilya calling him again by his last name after, like he is saying "hey, we can go back to how things were, don't leave". Also, the way Ilya prepared things for Shane to stay, having his favorite drink, making him meal that is okey with his diet, etc. Ugh, my heart. In the club, Ilya recognizes Rose's friend Miles and that's why he turns around looking for Shane in the crowd. The same thing goes for Shane when he sees some of Ilya's teammates. Ilya actually planned to fuck later but we find out, he was not able to do it and went home alone. Scott is in a very different situation than Shane and Ilya. He is old enough to quit his career so coming out wouldn't be as bad even if the team decided to resign him. Also, Shane and Ilya are arch rivals so their teams and fans would be probably absolutely mad about it. Then there is the thing with Ilya and Russia where if Ilya would come out and deported back to Russia, his career would be over, he would probably go to jail and all that crap. It's just too risky for both of them because they have too much to loose at this point in their lives. Another thing that you mentioned was the years that they have spent just texting and hooking up. They have been doing that since 2009, so it has been over 6-7 years at this point. What you need to keep in mind, they see each other only few times a year so, at least from my point of view, it's not that crazy to have this going for that long. They are also not official or anything so they can be with whoever they want between their "meetings". Ilya is actually such an interesting and deep character. I love him even more after reading the books but even before that, the way Connor Storrie was able to portrait llya's trauma is so fucking beautiful. Since episode one, we can see that Ilya hides behind his humor and coldness. People either laugh at him or hate him which stops them from asking questions. The pressure he is under (the death of his mother, his ill abusive father, providing for his whole family, dealing with shitty older brother, being the star of Russia so there's not space for any mistakes) and the fact he can never really be himself in his home country... It breaks my heart. And now, that he finally started to open up to the only person who is not afraid to ask questions and the person leaves right away. Ugh, anyway. I cannot wait for the next two reactions!
WOW, this breakdown is incredible!! You put it into words perfectly. Ilya's character is so beautifully complex. You really helped explain a different perspective and details we haven’t noticed yet. Thank you for sharing this detailed breakdown; it helps us understand their characters more. <3
I love their faces. Now I'm curious about GL.
🤭
Don’t forget that there were years of hook ups in the beginning montage. Ilya was falling for him the whole time which led to the tuna meltdown with the first names.
Also, the reason that Shane crashed out at Ilyas place is because Ilya used his first name for the first time
That makes a lot of sense too!
Also in the books, Shane is half Japanese. The actor, Hudson Williams is half Korean.
I think what happened when Shane leaves after they hook up is Shane has continued to suppress his feelings. When he texted we didn’t even kiss, that was him realizing he’s was starting to catch feelings and so he convinced himself that this was only sex. When Ilya starts putting in more effort that sort of confuses Shane, and when they say each others first name for the first time, it becomes way to real and way more intimate than they’ve ever have been…so he panics and leave.
They’ve actually been hooking up for 7 years at this point. Met 8 years ago. 😉
Watching this show and love design has become my pre-work ritual on Wednesdays. I was happy to see the lovely Sophie Nelisse show up on this episode as Shane's new GF. Love her in Yellowjackets. If you have not watched Yellowjackets yet, you definitely should on your main channel. I feel like it would be right up your alley, it's a great show. Thanks for the post, it's pleasure watching with you.
