This is how I’ve made sense of their family tree: Anin is the Prince’s youngest child. The Prince’s grandfather (I think) is the King. Hot Pat is the adopted sister to the Prince. Pin is a paternal niece of Hot Pat. Anin’s great-grandparents and Pin’s great-great-grandparents are the same people (making them 2nd cousins, once removed)

When you finish TLP you can checkout the ost and own ost of FreenBeck, but after you watch the episodes so that you will not be spoiled.

Pin was adopted by her biological aunt, princess Patt. Princess Patt is the adoptive sister of the royal Prince (Anin's father). Pin is 1 year older than Anin.

i really enjoyed rewatching the first episode with you guyss , i cant wait to get to the rest , its important to note that anin and pin dont hold the same royalty rank , anin is more royal that explains why she always uses that to do what to she wants opposite to pin whos always behaving well , please pay attention to small details , like the pinwheel , the caged bird in pins room , and a lot of stuff in the next episodes , they hold significant meanings to the story line

Ok i wanted to share a info 🎈NO SPOILER HERE🎈... The name Loyal Pin has a few significance & nuances in the series which are here .... 1. It signifies loyalty of the couple and i read somewhere that in that era... If women gifts or presents her hair pin to another female, it was a coded proposal for a lesbian relationship. (You will notice its validity later also how pin the name tag also refers Anin) 2. Keep noticing the Pinwheel.. its significance as their first reminder of their frienship, the romantic bond & its beginning. 3. And ofcourse Pin's loyalty to her highness (also vice versa) throughout every thing. 😊😊😊😊

one of the reasons i love The Loyal Pin, is because it is a SLOW-BURN ROMANCE. The audience will be taken along the journey of Anin and Pin as their relationship evolve through the years. It will feel like you grew up with them. They will take their time here which is very rare for most GLs nowadays that are just drama-filled and so fast paced. But with TLP, it's like you are reading a book, page per page, taking it slowly and immersing yourself in it. TLP is called a masterpiece for a reason, and I can't wait to rewatch this show alongside your reactions!

So happy you've started TLP. It's my comfort show, so it plays in the background in my house a lot. But I've never read the novel. In honor of the reaction rewatch I'm going to try and read along in the novel at a similar pace to the episode posts. I don't know if that even possible or how closely the show and novel follow the same event timeline. But I thought it would put a new twist while viewing with you all.

The Ministry of Commerce took notice of FreenBecky when they surprisingly won the most Popular vote in the 9Entertainment awards, a huge award show in the industry. FB was practically nobody but they surprised everyone by winning over strong opponents. That caught the attention of MOC, and due to the great success of GAP and its world wide audience, they signed with IDF to promote soft power and to sponsor TLP. The series is actually very closely following the novel with the exception that with MOC involvement, director Fuse incorporated a lot more detailed culture, traditions, food, fashion and the whole set. It doesn't feel like product placement at all, in fact it is very beautifully and educationally portrayed. Makes me hungry all the time watching the series😋

the aunt is a pageant title holder (Miss Thailand 2006),tv host,model & yes included in a lot of shows & movies

The palace is actually the same palace used in both Gap and Blank btw!

Thai Royal rank and title can be confusing so I will try to simplify it here His Royal Highness His/Her Highness (special 1,2,3,) (Anin Father SP1) (Pin grandfather SP2) His/Her Serene Highness (prince/princess) (Anin, Pat, Anin brothers, Pin father) M.C. Prince/Princess Commoners with Royal blood (M.R.) or Her Excellency (Pin) (M. L.) or "The Honourable." (Sam from Gap) Because of Pat's unique position (adoption) plus the Title/rank for both her and Anin. They can be referred to as Aunt/Niece or sisters according to rank. If you listen carefully each character addresses each other differently using different titles depending on who they are talking to and which rank the person who is speaking it from. The Thai royal vocabulary is large and confusing. This actually caused confusion in the English novel translation and Anin dad is called King but it's a mistranslation he is a prince.

And Freen loves to cook she would cook for those on set and she did learn how to do those dishes and cut fruit etc also just to say in this series they are speaking ROYAL THAI something they both had to learn, but it was difficult for both of them, especially Beckie

Gap was so popular that the ministry of commerce asked to be involved so that it would also bring Thailand to more people internationally so that people would know about customs and food what they call soft power! And also at the time Freen and Beckie were asked to meet with THE I believe Prime Minister and they helped push through the legislation for LGBTQ marriage, et cetera …. I know that you’re gonna love this and I’m so happy that I could actually join Patreon now. And just so you know it is set in the 50s. PATT is FREENS character aunt and she is the *adopted* younger sister of the prince .(interesting fact in the book Anins father is the king)

All the food getting shown and traditional Thai features are throughout because of the Thai ministry of commerce sponsorship and I absolutely loved that. I find product placement in some Thai GLs feels so weird and this just felt interesting and educational instead. Plus it’s done so beautifully throughout and really fits in with the historical vibe!

To clarify the family tree: Princess Pat is Pin's biological aunt; Pat's brother was Pin's father. They were distant relations of the Savetawarit family (Anin's family). Then, Princess Pat was adopted by Anin's grandma and became Anin's dad's sister. (Not sure why, doesn't matter). When Pin's parents died, Princess Pat adopted Pin, although i don't know if it was an official adoption. Pin still calls Princess Pat "Tan Ar", something like "honorable aunty", rather than mother. Pin and Anin are technically very *very* distant blood relations, like, 2nd cousins once removed or something? Apparently Anin's father and Pin's grandfather were 1st cousins. Some distant blood relation was pretty common in marriages in the Thai royal line, as people usually married someone of the same or similar "rank", which is based on how closely they were related to the king through the male line. So in the context of show, the fact that they're related isn't really a big deal. Difference in rank is a slightly bigger deal. In this case, Pin's title is Mom Rajawongsee (M.R.) which is nobility rather than royalty. She's technically a commoner. On the other hand Anin, her mother, her brothers, and Princess Pat are all Mom Chao, which is royalty - the lowest royal rank before commoner. The Prince (Anin's dad) is Phra Ong Chao, a higher rank of royalty.

As you suspected, the Mercedes are a good way to date the show. Given the 1950s Mercedes Pin is brought to the palace in, we’re talking mid-1960s at 15. I remember seeing a video of the formal signing of the Thai Ministry of Commerce as sponsors. There was a room full of (mostly) men in suits. As a sample of the movie to be created, they showed a (pilot?) FreenBecky love scene. At that point, Freen and Becky got to stand on either side of 3(?) men on stage as they signed the documents. I hate using this word, but genuinely surreal.

[No spoilers at all] To clarify the family tree: The Prince (Anil's father) is a 2nd rank, rank name Phra Ong Chao in Thai (similar to a western Prince). He is very royal. He is married to Princess Alisa who is a 3rd rank, rank name Mom Chao in Thai (similar to a western Duchess). Formally, The Prince is addressed as Phra Ong Chai and Alisa is addressed as Than Ying. Princess Anin and her brothers, Prince Anan and Prince Arnon, are also 3rd ranks, or Mom Chao (like wester Dukes and Duchess). They are the children of the Prince and Princess Alisa. Formally, Anin is addressed as Than Ying, while her brothers are addressed as Than Chai. Princess Pat is a 3rd rank too, or Mom Chao. She was adopted by Lady Klai (the Prince's mother). Important to note, there are multiple royal families in Thailand. Princess Pat is part of the Kasidit royal family, while the Prince and his children are Sawaitavarit. Princess Pat is also addressed as Than Ying. Pilantita (Khun Pin) is a 4th rank, rank name Mom Rajawongse (or M.R.). M.R.'s are technically commoners (similar to a western Lady). She is of royal decent, but she has no actual pull compared to the people above. She is the niece of Princess Pat and was adopted by her when her parents died. Pin is formally addressed as Khun Ying.
