I managed to finish MSZ the day before PLS Love airs!
Thanks for watching My Safe Zone. In multiple early episodes it was fully revealed that Lin wrote and tried to call Jane and the Aunt asked her to stop. There was always the wonder as to when and how it would be revealed to Jane. By the time the relationship with Lin's mother fully arced, it was revealed that Lin left to have a greater opportunity for success and to support the mother. Lin sacrificed her happiness and her relationship with Jane to further her potential to successfully financially care for the mother (family). This is not uncommon in Asian culture. Lin's inability to tell Jane before she left is presented as Lin being heartless but Lin was making a very adult decision she was culturally forced to make. This is unheard of and misunderstood in western culture. In the Loyal Pin, Anin leaves for 7 years to go to school in England. I thought the cycles of misunderstandings, sulking, talking it out and reconciling were realistic and aspirational. Long term enduring love is more about navigating the day to day misunderstandings and making a commitment to understanding, encouragement, bending when the "wind blows" and bouncing back- it is about being able to communicate. Lin said, "I deserve for my perspective to be heard," in the Pie situation. And Jane insisted on explaining that the only way she would be interviewed was by having Lin be there. There wasn't a right or wrong, a win or lose- that is what might have felt so dull to watch but it is the absence of that that builds trust in a relationship. Ch 3 had to squeeze so much story into 8 episodes. I liked that in every episode the story challenged the audience to look past what was ridiculous or unexplainable on the surface to root for Lin and Jane to get together and think about how every misunderstanding can be explained. That moved the story forward again and again, each time demonstrating character growth and strengthening the couple. The plot was simple- friends to lovers & life long partners to family. I totally love Lina & Miu as actresses and look forward to anything that comes next.
Not a spoiler or surprise, Anin's 7 year furlong in England is revealed in the trailer, intro and series description.
I just want to know who took these photos of them that were displayed at the “wedding” 🤨
Im glad you talked about the poll! Hahaha that was fun reading everyone's opinion on it was entertaining
I hope ch3 gets a novel series for lenamiu
This and the first episode were the series best for me. Though I did feel like it was too rushed right at the end. Maybe they didn't know if they would get a S2, or maybe they did and just wanted to add a child real quick for different story options later? I'm not sure, but LenaMiu are a perfect match on screen, great acting and Jane will forever be the greenest of green flags, so that's how I'll remember this series :) --Love Design was a nice surprise, a romantic comedy with a bit of drama. The final 4 choices are all great for their own reasons, looking forward to eventually seeing you react to them all.
I think this was the best episode of the series. I’m so excited for you guys to react to love design! It’s definitely a good one.
Blank *technically* had a season 2, but honestly i think it was just because they mismanaged the release of the show. Blank was 12 eps, as most GLs are, and S2 was just the 2nd 6 episodes released after a break of about 2 months. They did reshoot a couple of scenes, but also, when they were first releasing the show, the subtitles were really poor quality, so yeah i think they took a break to just fix shit before they lost their viewership. S2 was *noticeably* better than s1. (I'll be honest, it's controversial, but Blank was my favorite GL until recently, so don't take what i said as talking shit about the show. Just talking shit about the company that made it and continues to fuck up everything they touch :P)
I just recently watched Blank for the first time. I had tried watching it before and couldn't get past the first 2 episodes because of the age thing. But once I finally did the story was really good. And I found Faye's acting excellent.
Hmm, i've definitely heard *rumors* about season 2, but i haven't seen anything confirmed. I'm with you and most other people tbh though, i think they'd be better off doing something different, ideally an existing novel that has more substance than this. That being said, I still enjoyed the show once i got over the telenovela of it all and just watched for LenaMiu, so i would probably still watch whatever it is. I enjoyed the last ep a lot tbh, and i'm a little sad to see it end. Everything was just so beautiful and sweet! This is actually the first time there has been a Thai GL couple who have kids on screen, so people have been pretty excited about that too. (From the line "they responded?" I would say yes, they probably adopted Jin. I get the feeling there had been a couple of little time jumps; 6mo-1yr between engagement & marriage, maybe a couple of years before adopting since adoption applications take a long time, then maybe we see Jin another year or so later, since she seems comfortable with her family, but still asking about the wedding pics and the restaurant? IDK, there's no real indication, but i think it would make sense.) I hear you about the difference in conflict between this show and Affair; I think it's because of the telenovela formula tbh; conflict in MSZ has come from misunderstandings, miscommunications, and kind of ridiculous scenarios no one can control, that result in massive overreactions (like Jane storming off after reading the job offer in this EP instead of them just having a conversation). The drama comes every 10-15 minutes, and then it gets resolved again like nothing happened. It's a really frustrating and unsatisfying cycle that repeats over and over, it's very soapy. On the other hand, while Affair is a little rougher, and the drama is more extreme, it's not because of a lack of communication btwn the characters, it's not constant yo-yo-ing emotions, and it feels like the responses are justified and the pacing is more realistic.
Hey when you start loyal pin in jan. Can it go back to thursday?
This is the first GL series where the couple gets a kid. Can't remember the name but 2026 there is an already married couple, who looks like they are going to have a kid. Not LingOrm new couple. Also you should check out GMMTv GL Pilots, they are fire!
It’s called Fulfill.
Well this show is over! I love these girls and I really hope they get better writing next time for sure 🫶love design does have a very strong fanbase especially outside of thailand! don't know if you guys saw my comment about the post credit scenes in the show hopefully you won't miss them! Super excited to start that journey with you and i hope you get the depth of storyline you want out this show ❤️❤️
