The Mighty Nein 1x5 | Full Length Reaction

Regarding Caleb and Nott, it isn't made incredibly obvious in the first 3 eps, but there were time-skips between their first meeting and when they joined up with mighty nein. When the campaign started, everyone else had kind of bounced off each other in backstory and were little more than acquaintances, but Nott and Caleb had been traveling together for a long time in their character backstories and were ride-or-die by the time the story officially "started".

Caleb’s backstory is a very interesting take on the question, who do we blame when a child/teenager becomes a killer? Overall he was brainwashed/tortured for 2+ years in the name of a political cause. So much that isn’t even shown in this episode. Vox villains are crazy but Trent is a whole new level of evil. Love your takes ✌️

Honestly I go back and forth on who has the sadder story between Caleb or Nott but man the way they did this show was something else from the first I had tears flowing cuz I knew what was coming

A Dark & Incredible Episode 😭 Your reaction was super entertaining & seeing you guys shocked like that was fun ;) this week's Publicly Available Information 😁 * Caleb's amulet === blocked divination spells, which are used to spy on or locate people * The Green Crystals === are indeed refined Residium (like you said) and they amplify magic {in Vox's story , it was used by the briarwoods to build parts of the ziggurat under whitestone}. * About Caleb's Indoctrination & why he did what he did (without justifying it...) === When Caleb leaves for the soltryce academy , he is only 15 years old ...After around two to three years of training , Trent picks him , Astrid & Edwulf to become Volstruckers and begins experimenting on them with the Residium in their arms , to amplify their magic. As we saw in the episode , they are trained to do "whatever it takes" to succeed and seem fine with committing horrible acts in the name of the empire and their teacher . When Trent gives Caleb the mission to "put down the Zemni rebelion" (with his parents names on the list) , it is a sick test to see how far Caleb will go fulfilling Trent's orders without question....And the Horrible & Sad Truth is .... The Residium only amplifies their magic Without any effect on the mind....It was completely Caleb's choice to go through with that {after being indoctrinated at such a young age for years}.😱 Only when Caleb hear his Parents screams , his Mind Breaks and he instantly understands the weight of his horrible choice , but it's too late .... {It is mentioned by Owelia that Caleb went Insane from that & spend time in a sanatorium} ===> There is a lot more to mention about this episode and Caleb's different power levels throughout the episodes we have seen , but this comment is getting quite long now & I have to go dry my tears 😅 Can't believe that there are only 3 episodes left , can't get enough of this ..... as usual , Loved your reactions and looking forward to next week 💪😋

you're thinking of Residium, the magic amplifying crystals

careful with the youtube release that when caleb burned orwelia, dee said "She got armin'd" just to avoid any unnecessary spoiler clapback from anyone who hasn't caught up to that show.

poor poor indoctrinated dirt wizard is my favorite from all the campaigns, probably because Liam is always so masterful at showing the humanity within tragedy. dont worry though, that will totally be the last tragic episode of the mighty nein.

Hard to say for the show since things are a bit different but on Residuum. In game it's used to replace those spell components magic users need for certain spells. Some are very expensive or unique so being able to use a general use substance instead is very handy in a magic world. It's basically only found near Whitestone as a result of a battle between gods during the Calamity and is how the city got a lot of it's money. The green crystal form is said to be more potent than the base white rock form that is mined.

I can't wait to see y'alls reaction to this one!
