Im pretty excited if by the end of this we get a movie long discussion to coincide with the movies too 馃憤馃槄
I can understand why you guys would think Armin would be in denial because of how crazy things are right now but personally I feel like Armin is too logical and smart about it. It's not that he's in denial, it's because that was the original plan Paradis Island was going for (showcasing a little bit of what rumbling can do to the world). That's why he said to Mikasa "he's been on our side!" until he got confused seeing ALL the colossal titans breaking out. That whole bit wasn't him "gaslighting" Mikasa, it's all chaos right now and i don't think Armin has the time to feed Mikasa with things like that at the moment, since the most important thing right now is figuring out Eren's real plan.
Full on villain mode activated. Its not war against eldia its war against humanity.

its just a popular theory, but the fact why there are 9 titans is because each of ymir children had lineage with different skills. Maria鈥檚 lineage created the Armoured, Collosal, and the War Hammer. Rose鈥檚 had Jaw, Beast and Cart. and Sina had Founding, Attack and Female.
Actually considering Ymir probably built all of the titans, I think it has something to do with the flower she saw before getting the power and before dying having exactly 9 petals. Also, if you count how many hands pointed to her when King Fritz asked who released the pigs, there's exactly 13. How many years do titan shifters live? You get where I'm going right?
Eren's will to live transcends all
Armin thought that they're only releasing shiganshina's walls, to do a "test run" against marley to stop the global alliance force there. He thought just shiganshina titans were enough, but he's finding out in real time that WAIT why is he taking TOO many titans, and realizes that eren's about to yeet the WHOLE world not just marley's global alliance.
Btw NOW you can start watching the intro next episode. Btw what's absolutely heart breaking is because the "Paths" time is both infinite and instant, Ymir has been slaving away building titan bodies for eternity, non stop until eren saved her. Every single "experiment" that hange did with eren and every single time a titan because a titan because of marley and zeke etc, ymir had to build every single one of those bodies with nothing but a pale and bucket, the only 2 things she ever owned for herself in her life before she got enslaved by the original King Fritz. Everything just feeling like eternal work, infinite work, endless work. She even TRIED to die when she got speared by giving up, like how reiner gave up, but the king refused to let her die, and got her kids to eat her power (nice reveal with the Maria/Rose/Sina name drop right? That's why the wallists used to refer to them as the 3 goddesses). Ymir had all the powers in her. She tried to "escape" but he cursed her forever as a slave. Then when they ate her mom, the tree in the back went from being a pillar, to 3 branches (3 kids) then the tree kept growing the more children they had, and the power of the 9 that she had got split between the first few children and grandchildren, and affter that it was just inherited from child to child forever by eating the spine because the power of the titan is in the spine, because that ameba looking freaky cell in the abyss was a spine-line creature that bound its DNA to hers, like a long lost creature/cell that was discovered by accident by ymir... that's why ymir was seen as both the builder of roads, and destroyer of enemies, and both as a blessing from the gods and a deal with the devil, as legends embellish 1 side over the other depending on which side of the tragedy you're on. Eren's came in, embodying her rage against the world, and seeing freedom, and said he'll destroy everyone in the world outside in return for Ymir lending him her full power. Like eren said when he killed those thieves in s1: if someone tries to take away our freedom, i'll take theirs first to prevent that from happening.
Just don't over analyze it frame by frame, but at this point the cat's out of the bag with the events of this episode :)

W reaction. I rmr Jean saying in a previous episode how he thinks the euthanization plan might not work cause there will just be elderly people ('geezers') remaining, and the island will be defenseless. The hopes that the world will even leave them alone still is a gamble.

We're getting there! As soon as this reaction finishes I got 6 FULL Attack on Titan reactions ready to watch after I catch up on my youtube watch later list (down to ~75 vids). And for early next year (Q1?) when I get my AOT tatoo and got 'recover/aot watch' vacation.

Ymir physically makes each Titan out of clay every time the Power of the Titans is called upon by someone. In the Coordinate, time warps and stretches - what appears as a single flash of lightning in the real world is, for her, ages of labour. While mere seconds pass outside, she spends entire lifetimes shaping every Titan by hand. Very tragic馃挃
*Dee sees some strange amoeba thing give Ymir her titan powers* Dee: "Yeah, whatever that demon thing is." LOL Tbh, I'm glad they didn't go the Demon, Devils, Angels, God route. I think all of that gets to be a little cliche. If there's one thing this show is trying to tell us, it's that everything isn't black and white. The world is grey and our perspectives are what shape the way we view what's right and what's wrong. If you believe in the idea of Angels = Good, Demons = Bad, and they added that to this show, it would take away from it because then, technically, there's no room for grey. In season 1, Armin mentioned to Annie that he doesn't like the idea of "good people", because to him that just means "someone who's good to YOU.", and he goes on to say that there's no one person who's good for everyone. Something I think a lot of us can agree on and another example of things not being so simple as merely "good or bad".
36:15 Remember when Reiner completely lost the will to live? Ymir went through the same thing. Between her injuries and her total lack of will to keep going, her body simply didn鈥檛 heal, so she died. After 13 years being the Founding Titan. She didn鈥檛 choose to regenerate, so her body didn鈥檛 (It's hinted that the King was not only abusive but unfaithful yuck) And then Fritz, in a panic over losing the Power of the Titans, immediately ordered his children to eat her before it slipped away. Truly unhinged. Lol.
I do believe Ymir did die from that spear, at least her body did.
Did y'all forget the 13-year lifespan for titans? She had 3 kids, and the oldest one looks close enough to 10-12 or 13. That's why she didn't survive the spear. Remember what Reiner said about choosing to come back at the end of their term
The spear isn't what killed and neither was her having 3 kids. Ymir died because she lost the will to live after 13 years as the Founding Titan. She decided that she didn't want to continue living but instead she of dying she ended up in the Paths.

He was able to see his future because kissing Historia's hand triggered past memories of his father, that itself happened because she's of royal blood and they made physical contact. Next, he saw the whole scenario through Grisha's pov, meaning he was able to see and hear his future self talking to Grisha at that moment. It really is a loop. He himself realized he was the person responsible for the course of events and of the inevitability of everything. That's why he was so messed up, devoid of life.
