Hi Meesh and Dee! I'm a new subscriber! I'm so glad I found you girls — your reactions are amazing and the perfect excuse to rewatch AOT for... I’ve lost count of how many times now, haha. About this episode: did you catch Hange’s flashback to Sannes, right? That’s one of the most brilliant moments in AOT to me, and it really shows how incredibly well-written this story is. Sannes was the captain of the Interior Military Police — the one who got his hands dirty to maintain “peace within the Walls.” He truly believed in the King of the Walls (first Uri, then Frieda) and thought everything he did was for the sake of peace, that there was no other way. When Hange captured him, he left that haunting message: “The position you and I hold has an order, Hange. When one finishes their shift, another takes over. Good luck, Hange.” AOT is about understanding that, from Sannes’ perspective, he did what he thought was necessary for the ideal he believed in. It’s also about cycles… and about reflecting on our own actions, about the re-signification of ideas and symbols. It’s a masterpiece! I hope you're enjoying! I'll be here commenting with no spoilers, if you don't mind! :)
