I really appreciated the work put into the sex scenes making it really artistic and cinematic with the gentle pacing + musical score. You don't see that often in movies, me thinks.

Finished watching, great reaction! Since you guys were asking for recs at the end...if you've already watched Friendly Rivalry, then the other Korean show that came out in the past year that had obvious LGBT/sapphic themes is the one I mentioned above, Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born with Kim Tae-ri (the handmaiden actress from this movie). Absolutely amazing chemistry between the cast and a historical setting in 1950s Seoul, it's about traditional Korean theater and follows an all-female troupe (it's nowhere near as explicit as this movie though lol).
So glad you guys got around to this movie. This movie rules.

Yea do The Glory. You guys might not be ready for it but it’s a pretty decent show I think the production is good and whoever directed the first few episodes and a lot of the others did a good job. Might be the same director for all the episodes idk.
I honestly forgot how explicit the sex scenes are💀 the contrast between the beautiful and triumphant library scene and the final scene with the bells on the boat is so extreme that its almost funny lol

The Handmaiden is an incredible movie. If you loved Kim Tae Ri in this movie then you should absolutely watch 2521, Mr.Sunshine, and Jeongnyeon The Star is Born and Revenant all are K-Dramas and KTR is absolutely incredible in all of them. Her range is insane as an actress.

Ah this has my fav Kim Tae-ri in it! If you like her you should check out Mr Sunshine which she did with the front man from Squid Game or Twenty Five, Twenty One
