I didn't enjoy Korra when it came out. I did like this ending though. I though other seasons, Korra would have to learn the other elements again like in the original and I already thought that Legend of Korra was trying to remind us so much of that first series. I think that's why I enjoyed Book 2 more. It was trying to establish it's own identity. Looking back and rewatching it last month and again with you two, it's a good season. It's just a shame that Nickelodeon screwed them at times during the development of the series and some issues can be attributed to that.
I think it's so interesting how different each Avatar is and how they each have their strengths and weaknesses. Like Aang was so connected to his spiritual self and in Book 1 we see him go into the Avatar state multiple times (even though he couldnt control it yet). But with Korra she struggles with the spiritual side of things and doesn't go into the Avatar state until she's 17 and at her lowest point. So glad you enjoyed this season. Can't wait to see more of your reactions going forward!
you gotta remember that the creators thought this was their only season so they had to end it this way. Nickelodeon really toyed with them. I still think season 1 is one of the best Avatar seasons.
Yeah this episode truly felt like Endgame , NGL the show fooled me when Amon took off his mask and he was scarred I was like wtf but it turned out it was painted on I was Oh ! the show got me đ
The one thing I donât get is how he got his lip to stay like that. Iâve tried to move just half of my upper lip and hold it in place, and I canât do it without using my hands or moving the rest of my lips around. I guess thatâs why he puts his mask back on so quick, so he doesnât have to hold that position for very long.
Also, there was one small hint about the connection between Tarrlok and Amon: Korra only has flashbacks to Aangâs memories with Yakone during conflicts with those two, no one else. She even says in episode 9 that Aang was trying to warn her about Tarrlok, but she doesnât connect this to the flashbacks she had when she was interacting with Amon.
I see a lot of people, both reactors and other fans online, say they wish Korra had had to work harder to get her bending back, and that thatâs what Bryke shouldâve done if theyâd known right away that theyâd get multiple seasons. I actually disagree. I think it makes perfect sense that Aang would be able to unblock Korraâs chi, thereby restoring her ability to bend the other elements. I donât really see what they couldâve had Korra do to learn how to unblock her chi on her own. Track down a lion turtle?
Personally I felt like itâs better to keep Korra different from Aang. Donât really need another series where the Avatar once again only knows airbending. I like that Korraâs use of the elements is more balanced compared to Aang.
Currently watching the review part at the end - I never thought about Korra potentially committing suicide, but now that you say it, she could certainly be down that low in her life. When I originally watched it, I was thinking it was a bit of a cop-out - no previous Avatar ever walked up to Aang - He always had to actually go INTO the spirit world to talk to any of the previous avatars. Kiyoshi and Roku came closest, by sending their power through Aang...But I guess as it was originally only set as a 1 season thing, they really had no choice if they wanted to end the season properly. I'm glad that they ended up making it a full series like ATLA though. LOVED Dee's reactions to the big revelations - good stuff đĽ°đ Get ready though, Dee - Korra really takes off in all kinds of other directions in the following seasons - there's plenty to be excited for đ Anxiously awaiting Book 2!
Aang (probably) wasnât in the spirit world when he talked to the previous avatars on the back of the lion turtle. Or when he talked to Roku and Yue in the season 3 premiere.
Ahhh so excited for season 2 next!!!! Genuinely one of my favorite seasons! I think itâs beautiful. Also I love everything about this season except for the dreaded love triangle. Like Meesh said, itâs one of the main reasons people are put off by this show. I hope the creators really got the memo that people just arenât fans of this stuff⌠i really like Korras personality. It fits with the story given and the world needs a very active avatar during these times. Off to season 2!
well the one thing i like about the lovetriangle is that the girls never let that bs get between them. sure they didnt particularly seek a connection in season 1, but as Asami said, "I like korra. its you keeping secrets thats the issue" they didnt ever really fight other than maybe Korra's jealousy early on.
even if you consider yourself redeemable... its entirely possibly that Tarlokk didnt WANNA keep living anymore. their entire childhood was trauma and their adulthood was spent oppressing whole groups of people or taking away peoples livelihoods Tarlokk's probably miserable
Am I the only one that thought Korra was also wrong for going after a guy with a girlfriend lol? Like I get we have to kill Mako but sometimes it can be a little excessive
at the start, sure, but she's inexperienced with social situations and just followed someone elses advice on how to handle that. afterwards she accepted pretty quick and didnt do anything until Mako made a move on her
I dont care what anyone says- this season hits for me EVERY single time.
Cant wait for season 2 Tita Time
Dont know if i am here for the reaction to the show in general, or just for the reactions to the relationship stuff. Hilarious everytime, haha And the drink almost flying when Aang showed up
There are fan theories that speculate that when Korra was standing on the edge of the cliff and her tear drop fell, she was actually considering jumping so a new Avatar could be born. Her bending is such a big part of her identity that she didnât know how to live without it. When you look at it from that perspective, the scene hits different.
Here we go⌠𼰠Yâall always release when Iâm at work, but thatâs fine - will be watching later tonight đ
Nickelodeon airing a murder suicide? Yep, just a kid show! /s Iâm not sure which I laughed at more, Deeâs reaction of shock to that or her âNoooooo!!â in response to Korra and Mako kissing!đ¤Łđ¤Łđ¤Ł
Such a good episode. Canât wait until you reacted to season 2 episode 7-8!
