General Iroh II is 36 in Book 1. I like to point that out because I’ve seen a lot of reactors try to resolve the love triangle by suggesting either Korra or Asami could date him. And I’ll admit, back when this was first airing I thought he’d end up being Asami’s new LI because he does look way younger than 36. But yeah, he’s actually a year older than Pema.

I think of getting your bending taken away as like an athlete losing the ability to walk, an artist losing the ability to use their hands, a singer permanently losing their voice, etc. Sure, lots of people live and even thrive without those abilities, but in those hypotheticals I listed it cuts off those people from a big part of what makes them them.
My theory about the airbender kids each having different eye colors is that Pema is likely from the Fire Nation Colonies, having ancestry from both the Fire Nation and the Earth Kingdom. That would mean the kids have ancestors from each of the four nations.
Its just hilarious the reactions to the relationshipship stuff also And knowing how that ends, curious to see what the reaction to that is gonna be
general Iroh is in charge of the republic army, which is the united forces, not the firenations army. so its still an internal republic conflict, he's just not currently working for the firenation.
