Sims 4 Update

I'll try to keep this short, but there's a lot to cover.

For those who don't know, this page originally started by creating videos in The Sims 4. The original creator launched the project in December 2023, and I joined about four months later to help with video editing and storytelling. The following summer, he stepped away from the project and took most of the mod files with him, including many of the tray files used for the girls.

Since then, we've continued sharing the revenue generated from the Sims 4 videos sold in the Shop. That's why those videos have remained in the Shop rather than being available to members—it was the simplest way to separate Sims 4 income from the TK17 content.

Over the years, many of you have asked if I would ever create new Sims 4 content. The problem was that without those mod files, I would have had to rebuild everything from scratch, which simply wasn't realistic with the time I had available.

The good news is that we've reached an agreement, and I'm purchasing the mod files from him.

What does this mean?

It means I'll be making new Sims 4 videos.

I don't have a timeline for the first release yet, but I already have a large project in mind that I'm excited to work on.

Why am I doing this?

One of the things I love about The Sims 4 is the scale. It allows for huge environments and makes it easy to animate dozens of characters in a single scene. Any Sims 4 project I take on will be because it allows me to tell larger stories with multiple locations and bigger casts—something that's much more difficult to accomplish in TK17.

How will this affect current TK17 content?

In the short term, it won't affect anything. All of the content I've already committed to creating will continue moving forward as planned.

I'm also putting AI-generated content on hold, which was consuming roughly half of my production time anyway. That time can now be redirected into other projects.

When can we expect the first new Sims 4 video?

Realistically, I probably won't begin producing Sims 4 content on a consistent basis until early 2027.

However, I do have a smaller project planned for the next couple of months: an awards-style video similar to the Busty Globes, but on a much smaller scale. Instead of 20 categories spread across four videos, this version will feature 7 categories in a single video.

I think it'll be a fun way to introduce newer members to these characters while also showcasing what's possible with the game.
