The Los Angeles Clippers are cooked.
First and foremost, shout out to Pablo Torre for his excellent investigative journalism.
Guys, I absolutely could not believe it. I had to stop taking naps during the day because I woke up to a Shams notification that the NBA has given the Clippers their punishment, and oh my god, what a doozy.
The NBA has taken five first-round picks away from the Clippers. Keep in mind the Clippers had already given away five first-round picks in the Paul George trade to get Kawhi Leonard. That means the Los Angeles Clippers have given up 10 first-round picks, two pick swaps, and the back-to-back MVP, SGA, for Kawhi Leonard.
If you’re a Clippers fan and you want to switch teams, I will not hold that against you because this is another level of dismal. At least when the Minnesota Timberwolves got hit with the Joe Smith punishment back in 2000, they were already good. This Clippers team has been actively trying to retool. They were just about done with the Kawhi Leonard era, and then boom! One more fuck you before he heads to Toronto.
