I'm Back!

First, family - having kiddos and taking a major part in their life takes up any free time I have during daylight for the most part. Also, a few health issues with the folks.

Second, work has been insane. The impact of AI in corporate setting has taken a lot of time, as I am a major player in this space, along with my already insane workload.

Third, I really hit a wall. After the last release, I took a break and played some other games, and really, I felt like my game was shit. I felt like I was not delivering the level of quality I should be delivering. The negative comments were rattling in my head. I felt like I either needed to put a lot more effort in or kill it. Instead, I chose the worst path... I ignored it, and for that, I am sorry.

Not an excuse, but an explanation. As somewhat of a remedy, I am pausing memberships for the month.

Back to one of my points - if I was going to continue, I needed to put in more effort. I have less time and more stress, and the game does not make enought o hire anyone, which made me think - oh, of course, AI. But could it do the job?

I am not talking about AI generated images, no, but using AI to take care of all the busy work, to test, and to provide some degree of feedback on story and code. So I got a Claude subscription and applied it to my code base and story. It did such an effective job at telling me where the opportunities resided that I decided toi move forward.

So, what am I working on? I decided I wanted to clean up some of the code mess and plug a few story inconsitencies and such. No, it is not a lot of brand new content right now, but I was not happy with where it was, so if I am not happy with it, then what am I even doing?

A few examples:

  • The phone system looked like crap and did not work properly, so I got Claude to write new code for it and incremented a bit with it and it is wayyy cleaner.

  • I got Claude to look voer the entire code base and it found a few logic issues - probably things people had been complaining about but I could not find it precisely.

  • I asked it about the entire story plot, and it pointed out a few things that seemed to be short comings of the story in chapter 1. For instance, MC never really talks about his time to himself even about his future or career so far. Nothing really about Chrissy outside of the MC. Divya and MC working together so the future scenes carry more weight. All great suggestions.

With all that in mind, I am now planning another release that I will give to my subscribed patreons first with these improvements. The game should run better, make more sense, and I am hoping that it will look better as well with Claude making suggestions on render and lighting settings. I am hoping that this assistant with real-time feedback will help improve overall.

I do not plan to use AI to generate original images. I will use it to clean up images or animate images perhaps, but I will continue to use Daz to make the scenes and story.

Thanks for all forms of your support!

I feel you on the impact AI is having. I work for an MSP and am on the team preparing our AI readiness initiative. Because we have lawyers, medical practices, fire departments, and one city as clients, it's nuts. As for the AI, I don't know if you ran into any issues rubber ducking plot consistency with claude, but if you do, I've been doing exactly that with my story ideas using GLM on the Venice AI platform. It is uncensored and has memory features so I've been able to craft the prompt parameters to cut out a lot of the BS and actually make it a pretty useful tool that doesn't shy away from graphic topics.

There is some rubber ducking but I remember a lot of it so can correct it. Claude has been amazing for me to build infrastructure. Today, I just built a pipeline to denoise (if needed), resize, and convert from png to webp all in one pipeline, which is saving a lot of time. It has been stellar for workflow optimization and small tasks (like a title graphic rework I did with it).

"Instead, I chose the worst path... I ignored it, and for that, I am sorry." Sounds fully human to me ;) I'm glad you are back! Sometimes it takes a while to make any decision at all. 💕
