More and more proof that they do not give a shit about us! Not sure what they are going to do when they kill us all
Medicare and Medicaid fraud in the millions by doctors and drug companies go unpunished while the single mom who works an extra few hours gets disqualified from the program. Sounds about right. 'MURICA!
Ugh. Just devastating. 😔 Fuck capitalism.
ST LOUIS MENTION!!!!!!
The food industry episodes always bother me the most 😞
Great episode. It def feels depressing AF to hear how this shit hasn’t stopped in 2026.
nicely done
Great work, ACC. This is a state-corporate crime case of great proportions and one relatively unknown by SCC academics. There aren't a lot of us, but we do exist to rise awareness on shit like this. Thanks for all you do.
Abbott glucose monitors are also used by those among us who have cats that suffer from diabetes and frankly those monitors suck. Also, if you're someone with a cat who uses a glucose monitor and it fails, you can get a replacement from Abbott (not that it will work any better) but do NOT tell them it's for a cat. They'll hang up on you.
No matter which industry, you can be certain of one thing; manufacturers will always prioritize production and profit over quality, safety, and consistency. Especially in Healthcare and food at every level.
Here we go I just got finished listening to the introduction and already I'm like here we go here we go again the truth is about to set me free but before that is about to piss me off oh well let's go concerned citizen let's go
Very harrowing episode, up there with the Body Broker one for how I don't think I'll be able to listen to this more than once, but also reminds me of the Kepone Shakes episode with how many elements of this are the same suspects and institutions causing problems again and again. Your voice sounds a little rougher in this one, hope you're doing OK (in spite of the dreadful state of it all as you describe in the closing minutes of this one)
Excellent episode, put together so well and worth the wait. The timeline, the intertwining layers, wow. The haunting nursery music in the intro story was a great touch too, deformr. "more developed countries" *chef's kiss* also, Abbott really, really wants to be nestle, don't they. Also, *this* is the real job of the FDA. We think they have legitimacy but really they are bullhorns for corporations in moments just like this.
God help us if these recall nightmares continue… I’m not sure if we will ever learn from the past or present for that matter. Be suspicious of everything around you! 😑🫥🫣😓 thank you ACC for another eye 👁️ opener. Ohh and companies hate dealing with the state of Missouri as it’s one of the top states in suing companies for anything they try to get away with!
Good work bro. Thank you for putting these together and sharing them with us.
BABE WAKE UP WEVE BEEN SWINDLED !! lol in 2023 when my daughter was born I had her on the free hospital Similac which she tolerated so we rolled with that allll year!! Then again for my second. They throw you a few 2oz bottles during your stay and you end up giving them all your money for the next year 😂 fed is best! My PPD prohibited me from breastfeeding. I feel lucky to have been quickly handed an alternative that worked. He will never make me hate u similac OR SCHLITTERBAHN
I was just telling someone about how scary botulism is, and then I got a notification for this epsiode.
This notification just made my week
Much appreciated! Great job as always
8 months pregnant, can't wait to let this ruin my day 😆
Been there. I was at the end of my pregnancy then my son was a newborn when formula was contaminated w/ melamine in 2008. Fun times.
Thanks! Love this podcast!
Thanks, ACC. This feels like a follow-up to the Nestle episodes, which is how I found Swindled.
