7 years for a financial aid scam when there’s not a single US Nestle executive that has ever been held accountable 😭
After commenting on Seaworld, I kept thinking: have U seen THE COVE? I saw it at a beautiful theater in Palm Beach. The documentarian responsible answered Q&A with the audience after the astounding film. Most astonishing, he was the actual trainer of FLIPPER! Yes, THE Flipper in FLA! Just sharing in case this interests you. And yes, I voted!
i would love an elizabeth holmes episode
Spot-on answer, ACC, about what you would do if you had unlimited resources! The for-huge-profit medical industry in this country is perverted and depraved — ESPECIALLY when it comes to the so-called “health insurance” industry! These companies (Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Aetna, Kaiser, WellPoint, United Healthcare, etc, etc), make massive profits by denying as much care as possible and telling you and your doctor that you can’t have the most effective therapies but must waste time and money trying cheaper, ineffective therapies first! They keep this up until you die because to the greedy insurance companies, the only good patient is a dead patient!
I had a creepy crawlers bug maker! I burned myself all the time but loved harassing my older sisters and mom. Thanks for the great episode ACC.
If there's something you can add, Elizabeth Holmes would be a good episode to me.
I absolutely love the Baker Moment.
Me too. I missed it!
I definitely voted. Your work is incredible and you deserve recognition. I got my whole family and some friends listening to you regularly. Thank you for all you do🧡🧡
I appreciate your candid response. As an elder millennial, I too am completely out of sorts about the state of our world. The 90s as a child, was amazing. I’m thankful for less instant access to “news.” Having to interact with people if you wanted to make friends, in person. It’s funny now, as I read what I wrote, I sound like my grandmother talking about the good ol’ days. Oh, I too had endless hours of time with the disgusting edible science experiments with friends.
Things were even better in the 1970s before computers, the internet, and TVs in every room!
Hi, I'm Roy from the East coast of Ireland. Absolutely love your stuff.cant wait for Patreon to release your episodes. I have a standing order (monthly payment) and listen to you on Swindled! on Spotify. You're so dry, and love your subtle intersections, it makes it so listenable and that dry almost monotone delivery, is just the best. Stands out from all the other podcasts. Can't be doing with people chatting to each other and laughing, just want to walk along the beach next to the Irish Sea and listen to your stuff for an hour or so. Really appreciate the work you put into this podcast. Love your humour, love your deadpan delivery, and I really would like you to come here and visit. I'd take you out for pints and dinner. I can't come to America, it's fucked and I can't imagine how many podcasts you could do on Donald Trump. How can you as a country have a valid system in place that allows the likes of him and Sarah Palin to randomly name another loose cannon, to aspire and succeed to run for power and head up, then fuck up the whole country? Anyway love your stuff, and if you wouldn't mind, keep it coming. Not sure how you make money out of it, but if you do, I hope it's plenty!
*sigh* Thinking Sarah Palin was the bottom seems so quaint now, doesn't it? What a time to be alive!
Oh no! It sounds like they mistakenly thought you were not displaying proper reverence for ST. CHUCK OF KIRK. It's unfortunate, but innocent folks getting disappeared here and there is a small price to pay for our freedom to worship ST. CHUCK OF KIRK correctly.
Can't believe my question got featured lol.
I voted! Hope you win!
Yayyyyy! Also I still love the Baker Minute
Oh wow, my question got featured! Thx ACC :)
Definitely a second Grenfell episode. It’s utterly heartbreaking and SO TOTALLY avoidable at so many points in the lead up to the catastrophe. Same for post office, it was a cover up on a huge scale, but it destroyed so many lives needlessly.
No thank you to EH episode.
Thanks for all you do, ACC. I introduce you to all of my students as I teach white collar crime in a small college where it isn't talked about.
Thanks, CC. ❤️ It's been echoed here before, but I hope you know that many of us (myself included!) sincerely appreciate how much time and effort you spend creating this show. The content is invaluable - especially in a time where factual, unbaised information is becoming harder and harder to find. May you continue to enjoy making it, as I know I will always enjoy listening!
Thank you for answering my Qs! + fuck Seaworld and anyone who pays to watch wild animals slowly tortured into insanity.
Yes, but education with FACTS can change things. Have U seen THE COVE? Heavy!
Thanks for the update show! I love them! A show about the asbestos cover ups would be interesting. I'm Australian and we have a town in Western Australia that's literally been taken off the maps now. It was a blue asbestos mining town where sandpits were filled with the stuff instead of sand and many of those kids died in their 30's and 40's. The town is/was called, Wittenoom. Midnight Oil sung a song about it called, Blue Sky Mine. A quick google suggests they possibly knew it was bad for our health as early as the late 1800's.
I often wonder which Andrew WK married Kat Dennings
This was so wonderful. Thanks, ACC.
I'm would be intrigued if I met you and you said you ran a podcast for a living. The answer to "what's it about?" would -then- indicate my delight or distain.
You got this!
I just voted for Swindle for the award. I love the news version with the Q&A included. You don’t just have a podcast but the greatest pop! How else will we get the truth on total BS stuff spewed
I don't know if the Avril Lavinge conspiracy or your choice of toy marks your age more thoroughly but several nostalgia moments today.
Don’t do Holmes, it’s everywhere, on everything.
Yeah, as much as I would enjoy ACC's brand of cynical commentary on it, his talents/demand for time are better spent on lesser known stories
Omg I'M IN THIS! Can't wait to tell my bestie. Maybe I should start a pod and start with e holmes. We talk about it because of the impact it had on low income families and wat it would have meant. Had no idea you'd not be into it bc of the media, that makes a lot of sense. No pressure on it, you've got a lot to do anyways! We were so curious! Thanks for answering and for all your work in this! Cool to see how far it's come.
Can we vote more than once for the award?
No, Anthem won’t let you — I tried.
I missed Q&As, it's been a while! I also remember Dr Dreadful Food Lab, thanks for that dose of nostalgia
As a boomer, we had something called Incredible Edibles -- Dr Dreadful sounds like it may be related
Wow. I really hope you do more Q&As. Your answers were thoughtful, especially about how true crime listeners tend to forget how ACTUAL people are harmed.
You're damned right about fixing the American healthcare system! It CAN be fixed but TPTB refuse
YES SO EARLYY lemme listen
BRUH LIVE REACTIONS NO not the charlie- is this a bit
ACC my missing piece 🫶 Hope all's well brüv
