Fantastic episode! I'd never heard of this case before, so I looked up John G. Bennett to see what he's up to. He might have passed away last year; it's hard to tell because the obituary waxes eloquent on his love for The Lord and his desire to help people, but of course nothing about him scamming charitable organizations out of MILLIONS.
I live for ACC’s seamlessly interwoven Easter eggs of golden sarcasm! My fave this episode starts at 22:18: “It’s not like the obvious grifters were wearing red hats or something. “ Alas, ACC, that was 1995. No Evangelical then would have been insightful enough to see the red-hatted grifter they would fall for in 2016 and beyond.
