I’ve taken a long break from Swindled because…life, and this is my first listen since coming back. I remembered waiting for this episode when this all happened. It’s good to be back!

When is the Idiot Musk episode dropping?

How absolutely terrifying. Thank you for another amazing episode, ACC! Hope you have a great Holiday/New Year’s!

When this happened, I thought to myself, "Well that's a Swindled episode in the making!" And here we are! As usual, a tragedy that could have been prevented had this man not put his pride and greed ahead of basic respect for human life ...smh. Great episode, ACC!

The hubris is simply astonishing. I listened with my mouth open in shock.

First one to take out two billionaires in one sitting, but perhaps not the last after the events this week? Crazy times. Amazing episode and couldn't have come out at a more appropriate moment.

Fun fact: a friend of mine was on this very sub a year before the disaster. I haven't listened to the ep yet, but my friend described the sub as basically a big bathtub powered by two desk fans and a game controller. Which all sounds like a nightmare. He, however, said it was all very calm and peaceful, and that he even took a nap on the way down. Guess the roulette wheel of Rush assuming money and arrogance (excuse me, I mean "innovation") can overcome basic engineering problems didn't come up on his number.

I do need something to wear to the bottom of the ocean! How thoughtful of you ACC! Just in time for Christmas too

I bet someone brought Country music onboard anyways. It was a simple rule… Also, I wonder how far that kid got on his Rubik’s cube. Imagine solving it in record time - at a record depth - then the audio bleed from someone’s headphones fills the cylinder, “tequila on the beach cuz my wife left me… gonna fish until the well runs dry” 💥 Thank you both for another awesome season. I am often baffled for not remembering some of these national stories when they happened, but often glad I don’t so I can hear them told by A Concerned Citizen over DeFormers ominous foreshadowing. I hope you both enjoy your time off!

Finally a day off and what a treat! Just when I think they can’t get any better and then they do. How cool is it that this podcast is #1???! Been listening since the first. Selfishly hoping we don’t lose ACC to Big Corporate who must be finally paying attention to this podcast and its popularity but I’m sure he’s better than that. Gonna listen to this one another round….

“Safety is just a pure waste,” said Stockton Rush. Uh huh🙄 I love how wealthy entrepreneurs always have so little regard for regulations. What’s human life when there’s money to be made by those who already have more than they’ll ever need in a lifetime? At least Rush paid the ultimate price for his greed and foolishness — in too many of these stories, it is others who pay the price; the perpetrators generally get away with nothing more than a fine — IF that!

Grand season finale--I was waiting for the Swindled treatment of this catastrophe. Excellent writing, timely puns, very nuanced. The supreme irony here is that the more he won with successful "tests," the more stability he lost in the long run.
