Dev Diary #12 - "The First Course" Arc - 0.7.0

Hey everyone,

Another update on 0.7.0. Minor spoilers included.

Let me start with the good stuff: this does feel a bit like a special update, and it's definitely a chunky one too.

Special because it's the first update of Act 2, where I'm really testing out how the multi-route will play out in a way that doesn't drive players (or me) nuts. It also includes multiple large scenes, a nice balance of slice-of-life with h-scenes, and the escalation pushes a lot further than anywhere the OG ever reached. Which is a pretty big deal for me.

This is a lot for a single update... The Viv breakfast alone (preview shared with Platinum) is a complex branching scene that took a few iterations to get right. I don't want to over-promise, but on size alone I could arguably say it stands as its own update, and that's just a portion of 0.7.0.

We're in the final phase: writing close to wrapped, some scenes and CGs still being finished. I haven't hit QA yet, which I'd hoped to reach by this diary.

I said last cycle this update would come faster than the previous one. It hasn't, and I apologize if you subbed on that. Using the last release as a guide (13 dev diaries), realistic target is late September.

This means if you're subbing purely because you're waiting for the release itself and nothing else, know that I'm doing everything I can to deliver it as soon as I feel it's ready, but hold off from subbing until the actual release is out.

For those of you who've been sticking around: it does mean a lot, I'm aware of the many completed games you could get with that same money so I want you to know this game wouldn't be possible without you and I appreciate your support!

Platinum will receive a reward later in the week, less spicy this time (last one was plenty spicy! :< ). Skip if you don't want spoilers. Open to ideas for wallpapers too.
