I'm a big fan and I really like this game
When does the steam verson get updated? In a week or more sometime later

I was wondering with Steam saying no because “too realistic” is there any appeal process to that?
Steam has no appeals process when a game is outright rejected. Occasionally they do a "conditional approval", i.e. fix/change these items and it's good to go, but if they rejected it, it's case closed.
The major bug in Lavinia's quest that was fixed, was it the progress block/conflict with the blackmail quest?
