Dev Update #15
Greetings everyone!
I'm sure you're all aware of my lengthy absence, and I certainly have a lot of explaining to do.
I've never delayed an update for this long before, so I sincerely apologize. I was not able to leave a notice so you'd know what was going on. I genuinely believed I'd have enough time to finish everything despite dealing with unfortunate family matters.
Unfortunately, things caught up with me all at once. To make matters worse, I developed what I initially thought was a severe toothache. My mouth swelled enough that it was noticeable from the outside, and for several days I could barely sleep. It turned out it wasn't a toothache at all, but a boil lodged in my gum and visible from my outer jaw.
The pain was brutal. Even sleep took planning and eating became a challenge I'd rather not relive. And I wish ailment ended there.
I've been better for over a week now, but I was hesitant to make a post, build everyone's expectations, and then have something else go wrong. So I decided I wouldn't say anything until the update was finished, uploaded and ready to go.
I wanted to have something tangible to show before speaking at all.
I know the timing couldn't have been worse. I announced an update and completely disappeared. I wasn't in the right headspace to keep everyone informed. But that's still on me.
We're not going to pretend this delay never happened and simply move on. I finally logged in today and started reading the messages.
I kept scrolling... and scrolling... and they just never seemed to end.
All I could do was sit behind my desk, completely overwhelmed. So many of you reached out simply to make sure I was okay, that I can't properly put the rest of this statement into words. They won't do this amount of compassion enough justice.
I've always treated early access as a small 'thank you' to the people who support the game with their pockets. Through every high and low, I've stayed committed to that approach.
But I just don't have it in me to keep this one behind a membership.
Thank you all for your patience, and for reminding me that this community is something truly special. This update will be released for everyone. And I'll do all in my power to ensure we're not in a place where this can happen again.
Bonus scenes and animations will be released for all patrons. You bore the biggest inconvenience during my absence, and I want to thank you properly for sticking with me.

People kept asking about you, and I think that really shows how strong and supportive the community you’ve built is You’re a huge part of this community and a real inspiration to a lot of developers. Oh thank god you're ok, I was so worried when you went quiet which I found was unusual, I have been following you ever since you first started this, now for my rant, please for the love of god don't be hesitant on letting us know what going on alright. I know about putting expectations and then not trying disappoint which that is completely fine as long as you keep us in the loop, please remember we are very understanding plus supportive and we're happy to wait longer. Anyways thank god you're ok.

Man, I am genuinly happy you are doing better now. Injures and pain always sucks. But the closer it gets to the area of your head it gets more and more unbearable. Kudos for keeping your head up and getting through it. Wish you all the best.

Not because of the game, if an update has to be pushed it has to be pushed, you are a 1 person dev and are human it's fine. But because people will actually worry as you saw.
