✨A Day of Rest✨
After a good week of amazing progress and discoveries, remember to take a day to rest to care for yourself.
When momentum is building and inspiration is flowing, it's easy to keep going after 6, 12 and even 24 days straight of building and creating. But during that time, it's also easy for the unwanted guest called burnout to build up in the back of your mind. Even if you're working on your passion project, passion can run out if it's not allowed a day to restore each week.
😅Personal Experience: Over time in my own life, I saw how each day would yield less and less progress the longer I went without a day of rest. And it felt counter intuitive to take a break if I was already behind in my goals for the week. But a break was exactly what I needed! And I found that if I was consistent in taking a day off each week, I would see far better results in my work and creations.
📜A Biblical Perspective: There is a biblical aspect to this as well. After creating the universe, God took a day of rest for Himself, not because He needed rest, God never grows tired like we do. But in doing this, God modeled how we ought to follow His example and rest to take care of ourselves after a good week of work. And in Jesus's own words, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:28 There is a peace that comes with resting and trusting that God will take care of the many worries you may have. He want's to give you inspiration and creativity for your projects, "...your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first the the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you." Matthew 6:32-33
I hope that this message will give you some peace knowing that you don't have to do everything all at once. It's good to take a break, even if the world is telling you to keep going. Because you will find far better results in your own work when you rest.
I have some fun things I'll be sharing with you all next week (see the extra photos for a sneak peek). Until then, I pray you all have a wonderful weekend, and I'll see you very soon!
