A somewhat serious question…

Which type of voice acting would you prefer in Rosa Mortifera? This is a fantasy work in a medieval setting.

I was leaning toward English voice acting, but a few of you seem to prefer Japanese voice acting.

Please vote! :D
If you have feedback, I’d love to hear it as well. ❤

games like these feel better with JP VA, since the quality better. Doing EN VA might be less appealing to some people.

Japanese VA with eng subtitles 😂 Japanese VA just works so much better for these types of games

JP is cheaper and better

Oh boy, that's a tough one, I usually go for JP, but I also like EN voices. Too bad both isn't practical.

C: no voice acting? ^^

Whichever is cheapest for you.

English is fine if you get good voice actors, but I can't picture you finding good voice actors willing to work on a porn game for cheap so I think JP is much safer.

Im choosing English just because people like you dev, who hate romance, deserve nothing

English is my second language and I hope japanese becomes my third (still learning). I haven't heard any erotic voice acting in english, so I voted for it out pure curiosity.

I voted Japanese as well, just because there's alot of quality JP VA's on the indie scene. Also I'm not sure if there are good EN VA's on the hentai side of stuff but if you do EN instead of JP, please do get a good one and not someone that does a halfhearted performance/mediocre. Because if their voice is good in a normal scene but awkward or uncomfortable in a H-scene will be the deal breaker there.

I voted Japanese. That being said, I would be happy with whichever you choose as long as it sounds good.

I'd always enjoy Japanese VA, but my vote is English VA. It's so rare to come across them in these types of games, especially in VNs. It makes it so much hotter when I find a game I can actually understand the dialogue. It's one of the reasons games like Karryn's Prison is so well known. Also the people saying that English VAs aren't good haven't heard enough r34 video content. There's some really good ones out there, though idk about the price comparison

The quality of JP VAs for anime and especially 18+ stuff are just so much better than EN ones.

JP certainly has a bigger indie scene and talent pool when it comes to VA. If I do decide on EN VA, it’ll definitely be a good one! I won’t pick a mediocre EN VA just to have EN VA. And if we really cannot find a convincing EN performance, then we’ll fall back on JP VA.

I also lean English, Japanese is nice but hearing a VN in a language I understand just feels better We need more VNs with English VA :D! Also, I personally tend to just skip non-english voice lines since I can read far faster than waiting for a voice line I don't understand to finish

I don't dislike either English or Japanese voice acting. I like them both. I think English would suit the characters and the setting if you want to be that authentic, but it's also an anime-style game. I think whether English or Japanese, you should find VAs that are within your budget, have quality delivery and characterization, will stay available for your project, and will deliver voice lines within a consistent deadline.

100% Japanese not only is the voice quality all but certainly better but its far cheaper as well.
