Even Longer University Terms: 6 or 8 Weeks
11.03.2025 UPDATE: Added Spanish translation link (Thanks magalyrc!)
With this mod university terms last 6 or 8 weeks (choose one version) instead of only 1 week.
I never had enough 5 days to play a university semester, so I used the mods by Zer0 for longer terms.
But eventually even 4 weeks weren't enough for me. Plus, I play a season of 28 days, and I want a semester to last two seasons, just like in life.
So I made a longer version where one semester lasts 8 weeks. In addition, as much as possible, I reduced the productivity of the actions aimed at studying, so that sims don't become excellent students too easily (after all, they will have 54 days to do it!).
The mod is not for a wide audience, but I wanted to share anyway - maybe someone is also bothered with a realistic higher education like me!
There's also a similar 6 week semester version for those who have one season that lasts 3 weeks.
Important! Use it only before university enrollment.

P.S. And thanks to Zer0! Just to clarify, I haven't copy pasted anything from his old versions. It was just very convenient to figure out how does it work.

Hi. Is this mod still working? I also wanna ask if u can make a 4 months (16 weeks) version?
Love this! - Thank you
Can you make one for 5 weeks? Pretty please!
Can you make a candy shop please?
It sounds as a functional object, and I'm not capable of doing such things
Hi! I just discovered your mod & I see in the comments you mentioned working on a 2-4 week term version - just echoing that I would absolutely love this mod whenever you're able to get around to it! Thank you for taking the time! 🖤
Hi, and thank you! Yeah, I remember about that! I hope to release it soon. I was working on several big mods for a while
Hey! I’m having issues with my sims grade. I’m not sure how else to raise it and cheats aren’t working either. I kept getting the notification that she’s doing the bare minimum in class but I have them taking notes the entire class. I have the six weeks one
Hi, the mod can't cause that, because there is no override of the university performance. It only slightly reduces the multiplier of daily performance, and the poor daily performance notification doesn't include any multipliers. I'm playing with this mod for a year, it never affected the away actions in the university, and as this mod is very static, the same applies to all versions and saves. So, if cheats aren't working, I suppose there is a problem with the Degree Tracker (especially if you get LE from time to time). That's why, btw, you should avoid using the university cheats in general. Most probably, the tracker stopped accumulating the performance. You should test it without mods, on other Sims and in other saves. And after that, you can just kill and revive the Sim. It resets the Degree Tracker. But don't use any university cheats after that.
Hey! I see that you have been working on other mods and stuff but i wanted to ask a question about this mod and see if could get help with it. You have helped me in the past which did a lot and thanks again. I was wondering if you could explain how you changed the term to last 40 and 30 weekdays from 10 on zeros mod. I figured everything else out like with changing how long the term actually last, how many credits you need, and changing the values of things so it actually functions but that is my only issue currently with the weekdays. Its when you first start the term and it gives you a noti that it will last 40 weekdays. I'm sorry if this inconveniences you but thanks again and love the mods.
Hi! Sorry, I don't know what's happening with the Patreon notifications, many of them aren't shown in my account. If you still need that: open the degree tracker tuning, you can see this line (in my 8 weeks version) 'T n="TERM_LENGTH">54' This amount excludes weekends after the exams, so the formula is (7 * amount of weeks) - 2. And regarding the notification, I just rewrote the EA strings for that notification. You can find it in the String Tables. Hope it will help
Hi! Are you still planning to make this mod 2 weeks version?
Hi, I am, but for now I have too many WIPs
Really hoping this mod works still. Super excited to try it. I use two week seasons and I love the idea of my sim starting in fall and ending in spring. taking the summer then starting the next one again in fall. I treat each semester like a year. So the can graduate in three sim years or four. I made a realistic aging system for my game using MCCC so it works out for them to go to college in their young adulthood and still have a few years to start a family.
Can I ask, how did you make your realistic aging system. For me I know I wanna do long play with my sims stories, but have no idea how to set up the aginging process for the sims and really need help with it.
Hi! Could you please make a 3-4 week version? Zer0's mod has been removed and is nowhere to be found. It's difficult for my sim to graduate with good grades in just 5 days, but a 6-week semester seems too long for me. Love your mods and thank you in advance!!
I second this thank you!
Hi, I appreciate you for the mod! I do have a question tho, I was just wondering is it possible to do something like 14 weeks or even 28 week terms since they are supposed to represent a year? I would use The Peridot Project Longer Uni degrees 60 credits to get close but it seems they do not work together. lol I know that sounds extreme, I try for realistic gameplay and will even restart a season so I understand if that sounds like a lot and since there’s only 4 terms I wanted to know if it’s possible? And if 14 weeks or 28 weeks is possible and I had to do it myself how did you find your values from zeros mod to make it actually work correctly? I know a lot is trial and error but for example how you choose 17 and 23 etc. Thank you again
Hi and thank you! Regarding your request, it's a bit too specific but I really don't mind to explain you how to modify university terms.
I LOVE this mod and can't wait for it to be fixed! It's good to know I'm not the only one who likes to play with realistic measures of time, even though an 84 days pregnancy it's a bit overwhelming.
Totally understand you! I play with disabled auto aging and my game goes really long. I'm that person who sets up a 81 days of pregnancy period :) I was busy with a lot of mods to be released. But I guess I'll finally update this mod in the next few says. And I'm happy you like it 💜
Hello! Thank you for making this mod! I had question. Does this mod increase the required credits to graduate? I am also trying to make university similar to real life. I want my sims to be able to take all 12 core classes, but also some electives as well. If not, do you know if The Peridot Project Longer Uni degrees (specifically 16 credits) is compatible? Thanks again!
Or any compatible mod?
Fabulous!!! How did you overcome the issue of required courses repeating themselves after exceeding the usual term days in game?
As I researched it, this value shouldn't be changed because it causes duplicates while your sim is studying and it seems there is no good option how to overcome it. Instead, you still should complete 12 mandatory courses. But you can mix it with electives to make more balanced studying ;)
Thank you! I will use it! Semesters are always too shorts :) thank you for share it !
Yeah totally undestandable! Without this mod my sims attend high school MUCH longer than they attend university. I envy how easy univesity life was for them haha
