Slower Healthcare Redux Diseases Development

IMPORTANT! Obsolete for the Healthcare Redux version after the 17th June update!

08.02.2026 UPDATE:

The mod now affects gynecological and emergency conditions. Other packages that I haven't included yet don't behave the same way.

I divided the mod into packages corresponding to HCR modules. You can still use the All-In-One version if you want.

This mod makes Healthcare Redux diseases appear less often. There are different options for every lifespan variant. The mod is now modular, so you can download packages for modules you want to, or use All-In-One version.

I really like the Healthcare Redux mod, but the longer the selected lifespan, the more often sims pick up a bunch of sicknesses in their lifetime, which makes gameplay difficult.

So I wrote a small addon for this mod, which slows down the development of diseases from all modules.

Now the attempt to cast a disease on a sim happens less often - I can't say exactly because of the element of randomness and the chosen lifespan, but instead of every few days it happens every few weeks. For short lifespan it's once every few days, but still less frequent. Of course, mild diseases develop more often than severe ones (cancer, meningitis, malaria, tuberculosis).

This mod affects the following HCR modules:

  • Allergy

  • Cancer

  • Conditions

  • Diseases

  • Emergencies

  • Gynecology

F.A.Q.

Nothing changes?

  • You have more than one version of this mod

  • You put the mod deeper than one subfolder, check the script location

  • You didn't download the script

  • You have multiple All-In-One versions

  • You have multiple modular packages for the same module

  • You have both All-In-One version and any modular package

  • You have multiple scripts

INSTALLATION

First, remove the old version!

Second, you can actually use any lifespan option you want. It doesn't depend on the game settings — those are just my recommendations.

All-In-One

Unzip the downloaded archive (ONLY ONE) no deeper than one subfolder. If you have the All-In-One version, you cannot keep the modular packages.

Download from SFS:

LONG LIFESPAN

MEDIUM LIFESPAN

SHORT LIFESPAN

Your folder for the mod should look like this:

Modular Packages

Choose the packages you want, then download one version for each HCR module.

For example, you could have the long lifespan version for the cancer module and the short lifespan version for the emergencies module. However, you cannot have two versions of the cancer module.

Of course, you can't have the modular packages and the All-In-One version at the same time (as I wrote above).

DON'T FORGET THE SCRIPT FILE! The mod won't work without it!

Download from SFS:

Long Lifespan

Medium Lifespan

Short Lifespan

Put all the files into the Mods folder no deeper than one subfolder. It should look like this:

Important! To be clear, I don't own Healthcare Redux and don't modify its files. It's a plain add-on.

S
SonozakiSisters · February 8, 2026

I explained it in the post. Sorry, don't know how to explain it simpler. Try to use the translator

Where is the link of the mod updated?

S
SonozakiSisters · February 8, 2026

In the installation section

I don't know why, but this is what happens to me: Healthcare Redux only affects human Sims. Only they receive notifications about regular checkups, only they can call the doctor and make an appointment. And since I almost always play with occult Sims (vampires, werewolves, wizards, etc.), they never get sick. So I'm glad whenever it happens to a human Sim, at least the mod finally shows up. I think this also applies to dental and eye care, at least that's been my experience so far, but I'm still testing it. And since the new game update, I haven't even dared to turn on the game yet. I don't even know if Adeepindigo already has the latest/functional versions of the mods. :-/

Adeepindigo has updated their mode, so make sure you have the recent one. I’d also ask this on their post ^

Hello, what if aging is disabled in the game? Will the long lifespan option work?

S
SonozakiSisters · January 2, 2026

Hi, that's just a recommendation, you can choose any option you like regardless of the lifespan or aging disabled. I play with disabled aging too.

OMG this is amazing. Is this compatible with Healthcare Redux update 10.9.4 ?

S
SonozakiSisters · December 23, 2025

Yes, it's compatible

S
SB · November 23, 2025

what one would i pick if i dont want my sims to get sick that often? I've tried short and long (my sims lives are like in between) but i still find they get sick a lot i had to delete the conditions because my sims were getting every condition possible within young adult life.

S
SonozakiSisters · November 23, 2025

I decided to extend this mod so you can slow down every module's conditions. Wait a bit please

Michael Bond · November 2, 2025

Hi there, A.deep.indigo recently updated Healthcare Reflux on 10/29/25. Will there be an update for that update?

S
SonozakiSisters · November 2, 2025

Hi! I know about the update but right now I'm very busy to release a new mod. I suppose I will check the Healthcare Redux next week

GinTeow · October 4, 2025

Ong, you are a godsend, for real. Thank you so much! I love Healthcare Redux, but the mod always makes my Sims sick every three business days, and I'm so tired of it.😭😭😭😭😭

M
Maria Sergeenko · October 2, 2025

Will there be an update to version 118?

S
SonozakiSisters · October 2, 2025

It's compatible

E
Ezile Goba · September 12, 2025

Thank you so much. This is god sent! can i ask if it works with the GTW one? i need one for that overhaul.

S
SonozakiSisters · September 13, 2025

Do you mean if you have only one GTW pack? Yes, it's enough for the Healthcare Redux and my mod doesn't require another packs to work

Updating mods after realising I missed some early July updates, and just wanted to say thank you! This mod makes such a difference to my game, and I really love seeing modders build on and integrate with each other's work; it really feels like a community

Lady D · July 27, 2025

So happy to have found this! Thank you!!

N
Nicole puiia · July 11, 2025

Yass, TYSM for this! I rotationally play and age when I feel like it which could be a literal human year and I cannot with all my sims being sick every time I load a house! 🙌🏻

æ
æzuriiis · July 6, 2025

You are doing the lords work!! I love this mod but hate when my sims keep getting like three to four lifelong conditions it's so unrealistic.

M
Mofi Olajide · April 20, 2025

Do you have a alternative place to download this mod?

M
Moniq31Gamer · April 18, 2025

SimsShare is broken . Could you share alt link? Google Drive maybe.

M
Maja Š · August 31, 2024

Does it work for new updated version of healthcare redux?

S
SonozakiSisters · August 31, 2024

Yes, the part my mod modifies hasn't changed

g
gab · August 21, 2024

thanks for the mod! i have a question, does this also affect inherited diseases? i'm tired of out of the blue my sim going to the doctor and being given a diagnosis of diabetes, anaemia, eczema, etc because of his family history, when none of the family have had that 😭

S
SonozakiSisters · August 21, 2024

Yes, it runs within the same process as plain diseases/conditions so it will also happen much less often

S
Silly Goose · August 20, 2024

If I play on short but still want for them to be slower, can I download the medium/long one?

S
SonozakiSisters · August 20, 2024

Definitely, any version works with any lifespan actually, it's just based on a specific lifespan. But you can use another versions ;)

L
LittleYellowDuck · August 20, 2024

Thank you so much, now my Sims will truly "live their best life"

S
SonozakiSisters · August 20, 2024

Hopefully now the situations in the picture will be rare for your sims ;)

A
Awanthi · August 19, 2024

Oh my god. Thank you for this! I got so overwhelmed with everyone getting sick and constantly feeling like crap, and everyone constantly tired and sleeping and picking up conditions every other day that I just removed it.

W
Waffle's Mix-Ins · August 19, 2024

Wow, and I LITERALLY just closed my game to uninstall this mod because I feel like I get sick too often and then get screwed for a whole day or two!

S
SonozakiSisters · August 19, 2024

Guess it's a common behavior when you play with the same sims quite long haha I'm kinda lucky this time but none of my friends actually

R
Russian Succubus · August 19, 2024

Will you be releasing a version for those who have aging turned off in the game?

S
SonozakiSisters · August 19, 2024

I can't specify exact frequence for aging turned off version since it totally depends on player style. That's why I recommend to choose a version that is most similar with yuor gamestyle. I also play with autoaging off and for me it's long lifespan

S
SonozakiSisters · August 19, 2024

Also guys! Since the modifications can be better tested within long time and with many people (I mean you can't clarify whether it's too rare or not for one or couple of sims) it will be easier for me to adjust it with your feedbacks in this comments section ;)

r
raesi sims · August 19, 2024

i can finally download the mod again 😭 i got so overstimulated in a big household with sims getting sick every 5 minutes

S
SonozakiSisters · August 19, 2024

Yeah totally understandable. My friend is just tired that her sim is sicked with serious disieases at the same time so it's now our local meme lol. So I've decided I should save at least her sim ;)
