Help me with tech suggestions for Cyberpunk: Badland Madman

Although I have a framework for the story prepared, I still need ideas for tech. So, I'm making this post to get your ideas. I'll be making a list after that.

I'm listing down categories, and you guys can fill them with whatever you know, no matter which fandom, no matter how absurd or strange it is.

  1. Defense - This can go from armor to cyberware to shield generators, and also property defense systems like turrets and such. Like MJOLNIR armor.

  2. Offense - Guns, offensive vehicles, explosives, or any tech that can harm the other side. Like that DL - 18 blaster. Or Leaper.

  3. General Tech - Something like that Quantum Condom. Tech that can be mass-produced and sold around the world. Tech that is advanced, and also new to the world of Cyberpunk.

  4. Utility Tech - Anything like Sonic Screwdriver.

  5. Energy Tech - You know what this means. Arc Reactors and such.

  6. Health Tech - From droids that heal to Stimpak from Fallout.

  7. Food Tech - From tech that can help him grow food on land again to tech that can outright construct food from matter. Also water-related tech.

  8. Industrial/Construction - Cypher needs to build a lot of stuff. From buildings to tech. So machines, printers, and construction droids. This is pretty important.

  9. Absurd Tech - Halo Rings, Super Star Destroyer. Stuff that Cypher really can't do anything about.

  10. Transportation - From cars to spaceships. Something doable.

  11. Anything that you guys think I missed.

Just go all out and suggest whatever you guys can think of.

Don't know if it's been suggested or implemented yet. Just started reading the story, but what about Yorha styled androids, completely loyal shock troops or bodyguards that can pass seemlessly for people but hit as hard as full Borgs

Something to protect him from nukes and whatever other missile type weapons they have. Also something to clean up the air/lakes/oceans from radiation/pollution (gotta start cleaning the environment asap). Also, there’s probably tons of discarded resources just lying around, maybe he can send out the micro bots to collect it or set up a dumpster and pay homeless, the young or other broken people to collect it for him and create a recycling plant. In the future he should claim 100% of space so he can mine the resources and terraform mars or something.

Since you already gave him a Mind, the knowledge on how to produce the Deroit become Human androids would be useful and also vaguely on par with Cyberpunk tech. The selling point could be an alternative to Gemini FBCs and as more human looking service robots. Also joytoys. For vehicles I HIGHLY recommend the Ubrikkian line of vehicles and vessels from starwars. Also the Theed Royal Engineering stuff from starwars. Fast durable but not so fast or so durable as to be mind boggling and thus limiting the attention drawn. Titanfall mech and bots are also great here. If you want to get a touch esoteric then stuff from Horizon Zero Dawn. Really interesting tech and implications from there. If you want to get very heavy into the vibes and such, technology from the Ancients in Stargate or the Protoss from StarCraft would be really dope.

Honestly if your going for what gives him the most versatility and options Star Trek replicators basically cover it as long as something's atomic makeup isn't extremely complex it's able to make it Food medicine tech clothes organs metals It's also able to break things down to learn Thier patterns or if he's able to design it well enough print it out like a super 3d printer and it's also pretty close to Thier transporter tech so its possible to maybe gain it at the same time It would also allow him to create alot of the stuff that's world specific like an example even if I don't think it would be able to but vibranium if he knew the exact atomic structure

Forzarismo · January 18, 2026

The Big MT and the Institute from the Fallout Series each have tech that would be incredibly useful for Cypher to make. For example there is the Saturnite which can be used to make absurdly sharp and insanely heat resistant tools/weapons from. There are also the cybernetic enhancements that the Institute installed into Kellogg allowing him to live for hundreds of years and look relatively young, something that is decades upon decades ahead of what Cyberpunk has to offer.

Drago what ifs · January 17, 2026

Cypher will need synth bodies if you plan to bring Alt Cunningham into the story. There is an in world version with the Gemini body but those cost a shit ton and are monitored by corpos so have fallout/West world synth bodies may be the way to go.

_
__wave · January 17, 2026

Well I would kinda wanna see him like create the deathclaws, but make all the other corps obsessed with them for some weird reason. Like they wanna make em why honest who know everyone else wants them so they must be important. Or maybe like iron man armor the nanotec version from the movies. Finally there is a terraria mod pack called the calamity mod give stuff from draedon’s boss loot that he can make somehow. (He is like basically a mechanical god high key with super op end game stuff.)

I also agree with the guy below about him building a bunker. Could make it multi level. Also Subnautica tech would be sick. Would help him be able to build a shelter in the reservoir where Laguna Bend is.

Cold Fusion (Shadow drop it, or the government and corporations are going to kill him) (Night city is powered by microwave transmitted solar radiation) Anti-Hostile AI countermeasures, go beyond the black wall and clear out the rest of Earth. Westworld level bodies for his AI to puppet as a group or simulated individuals. The cure for cyberpsychosis, the currently running best theory is that cyberpsychosis was purposefully developed by all cyberware manufacturers. And it exasperates when you mix different brands. This is to encourage brand loyalty and every corp benefits. Cuz someone will have all arasaka and they'll swear arasakas free of the risk, someone will have all biotechnica, and they'll say that's the ticket. But you mix the two and you get fucked. The more you mix the more fucks. So a cure for that, that'd be pretty sweet. Nanite based Mass-water purification system (project purity from fallout 3), start desalinating and detoxifying large bodies of water. With a radius determined by the size of the nanite cloud. Here are some of my initial Idea's, I might come back and edit this if I think of more. 1. Defence - Crysis Nano Suit, MJOLNIR MK2 (Spartan-IV Version). 3. Offence - Halo Weapons (UNSC Caseless ammo, Covenant Plasma), WH40K Imperium Weapons (Lasgun, Bolter, Melta etc.), MAC Guns (he seems to learn the lesser science that works up to the highest level right? if so, if he knows how to make MAC Guns, anything lesser and easier to use will still be absurd, the UNSC Infinity, I believe, shoots a 3000 ton projectile at 0.25c, or 25% of the speed of light...). 3. General Tech - 4. Utility Tech - Omni-Tool (Mass Effect, makes sense without a Cyberdeck), Gravity Gun (Half-Life), Matter Manipulator (Starbound). 5. Energy Tech - UNSC Fusion Tech, GN Drive (Gundam), Zero Point Module (Stargate). 6. Health Tech - Medi-Gel (Mass Effect), Medical Droids (Star Wars), Stimpacks, Radaway, Rad-X (Fallout). 7. Food Tech - Replicators (Star Trek), G.E.C.K (Fallout), Moisture Vaporators (Star Wars), Nutrient Paste (Rimworld). 8. Industrial/Construction - Generic materials from most Sci-fi like Durasteel, Plasteel etc. Molecular Furnaces (Star Wars), Replicators (Star Trek), Digistruct Technology (Borderlands). 9. Absurd Tech - Dyson Sphere, Mass Relay. 10. Transportation - There is LOADS of good Sci-fi vehicles (some Conceptual) from Star Citizen and Cool art for both it and Star Atlas, I'll give them their own area, as their is quite a lot of them for just here, and some are just concept art, these can fit in Offence as well. 11. Misc - Portal Gun (Portal), Stasis Tech (Dead Space) Star Atlas: Calico Maxhog (Submarine/Hover Car), Calico SCUD (Star Wars Speeder meets Porsche), Calico Compact Hero. Star Citizen: Hercules Starlifter, Drake Ironclad Freighter, Anvil Valkyrie. Kermit The Frog · January 16, 2026

I agree with liquid potato on Dead Space. You've got the stasis module that massively slows down a specific target, doesn't matter if it's a door or a biological creature. Not really sure how that actually works in universe cause it makes no sense but whatever. Then there is the Telekinesis module. At it's max upgrades, that thing is powerful enough to rip the bone implements off the Necromorphs while they are alive, which is badass and could also be used in construction and maintenance work. There are of course the engineering suits and their suit of upgraded versions, could be sold again to construction workers in hazardous conditions or as space faring gear. The suit kiosk could be modified as the primary shop for Obsidian inc, with the amount of people just walking around night city it would be pretty useful to have physical shops that are automated. Could also use the shop kiosk as a modular prep station for military applications, sell them to various corporations for quick deployment of their soliders armor in the field. Of course I'm sure you could also implement a kill switch incase any of the corpos turn against Cypher. Alot of others have already said Mass Effect related gear, but if Cypher developed a mass effect generator or anything that actually created a mass effect field, he could research biotics or any of the other tech from Mass Effect independently. Biotics are absolutely insane in universe so that would massively boost his threat level. 🐸🧬

Haven't started this one yet, so not sure how useful my comments are. The thing with a Cyberpunk uplift is the corps wanting to prevent a change in power that isn't in their favour. So you need to focus on stealth and anti nuke until you are inevitable. For that reason I'd suggest a heavy fallout tilt. Nuke shelters with underground gardens tended by robots, process the food so its not obviously fresh/local, with invisible deliveries. You also want things that can pass for local tech advancements, as it's easier to trust. Synth tech may make more realistic cyberware, which could help with cyberphychosis. Beyond that, you want anti ambush. Armour that goes on in 2.3 seconds is a nice to have, but doesn't save you from a sniper. 5 minutes notice does. Finally, you want tech you can escalate from. They will break some of your stuff, reverse engineer it and develop counter measures, being able to bring out a new improved version every year for a decade or 3 is vital for long term success.

M
MrPlotThickens · January 16, 2026

Yup. Nice ideas. Though the name of the fic has "Madman" in it, so the MC is gonna be doing some not so stealthy things as well.

Auto miners, turrets and construction stuff from any of the factory type games / turret defense games would work for building things up for himself. Could even grant him auto researchers to unlock tech for him as long as be brings stuff back for them to scan and improve upon. Could be a good way to build up a company with improved cybernetics in the future.

K
Kasikan · January 16, 2026

If you mixed games pieces from stuff like Riftbreaker, Factorio, and Satisfactory for mining / turrets and then added in Subnautica style printing with Satisfactory quantum storage, you'd have a nice setup for both planetary and space based. Even more so if you added in Astro Colony type droid miners and other space based mining. I'd probably take Riftbreakers for Turrets. Astro Colony for space mining. Factorio and Satisfactory for planet based gathering / trains. Then Subnautica for being able to print things near instantly. Though all of the games have fairly robust printing systems. Subnautica and Satisfactory both have that quantum storage / printing stuff going for them with the ability to draw stuff from them no matter where you are in Satisfactory. Which would be damn helpful for just dropping down a bunch of turrets when you want to slaughter some ass holes or set a massive trap.
