ITALIA World Mod | Installation Instructions
My world mod packs have two distinct components: Areas and Mods.
You can just install the mods/cc, even if you don't have My Wedding Stories. The world areas overrides are optional. But if you have My Wedding Stories, I recommend installing everything for the best experience!
MODS (Mostly Base-Game Compatible)
Download & Extract/Unzip the .zip folder.
Delete any ".DS_Store" or "MACOSX" files (these are auto-generated on PC because I use Mac.)
Move "Lijoue_BuyFood" and optional add-ons directly to your Sims 4 "Mods" folder
Move the "ITALIA Mods" folder directly to your Sims 4 "Mods" folder.
Check the "DLC Requirements" list and feel free to delete anything requiring packs you don't own.
You can delete cc you don't want, but it's best not to delete "tuning" or "recipe" files.
Anything with a .package file type goes in the "Sims 4 / Mods" folder
AREAS (Requires My Wedding Stories)
THIS IS THE SLIGHTLY HARDER PART SO PLEASE READ CAREFULLY.
The mod folder "ITALIA GP11 Areas" contains two .world override files: "GP11_Inland_01.world" and "GP11_Coastal_01.world"
These are override replacement files that must replace all the original .world files with the same names.
To correctly install the world mod, you must find all copies of the original files and replace them with the modded files with the same name.
You may be able to find the original files by searching in your file browser, but I recommend checking manually because sometimes hidden files don't show up in search.
You can find the original files wherever the "The Sims 4" game folder is installed on your computer in the subfolder GP11 > Worlds > Areas
It is not the same "The Sims 4" folder that has mods/saves/tray etc...
Even if you find one GP11 folder, please also check the other suggested paths, since you likely have multiple copies.
THE SINGLE MOST COMMON MISTAKE IS NOT CHECKING THE 'DELTA' FOLDER PATH!
The exact location(s) of the GP11 folder(s) varies slightly depending on your computer and game launcher. (Example paths below.)
WINDOWS PC:
This PC > Windows(C:) > Program Files > EA Games > The Sims 4 > GP11 > Worlds > Areas
This PC > Windows(C:) > Program Files > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > delta > GP11 > Worlds > Areas
C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 4\GP11\Worlds\Areas
MAC:
In the ‘Applications’ folder, right click the ‘The Sims 4’ app icon and select "show package contents". Open the 'contents'. This is ‘The Sims 4’ folder
Applications / The Sims 4 / delta / GP11 / Worlds / Areas
Applications / The Sims 4 Packs / GP11 / Worlds / Areas
STEAM DECK:
Open dolphin file browser in desktop mode. Make sure "show hidden files" is selected in the browser settings
/ > home > deck > .local > share > Steam > steamapps > common > The Sims 4 > GP11 > Worlds > Areas
/ > home > deck > .local > share > Steam > steamapps > common > The Sims 4 > delta > GP11 > Worlds > Areas
EXTRA INFO
Back up your original .world files and save files, just in case.
'Inland' is the top area of Tartosa (Terra Amorosa). 'Coastal' is the bottom area (Porto Luminoso).
Yes, my world mods are 🏴☠️ compatible.
LIGHTING
The .world files use Sunblind lighting by softerhaze.
Because the .world files are replacements, it's not possible to use other .world files with the same name (lighting world mods like Sunblind are world mods).
The .world files only impact their specific area. They have no impact on any other areas. If you want, you can choose to only replace 'Inland' and it will not impact 'Coastal'. It will not impact Willow Creek or any other world. Meaning you can use other world/lighting mods in other worlds.
EXPECTATIONS
This does not include a world map override and will not impact any world map overrides you have. The map is just a picture.
This does not include any save files/tray files/builds, and it will not automatically replace any lots or sims.
This world mod changes the actual playable gameplay world at the fundamental level, meaning it affects all currently existing and future saves.
ERRORS
You can avoid a lot of issues by starting from "load game" , and load the area in build mode first, before live mode. This helps 'refresh' the zone.
You may get a last exception that says "could not slot object". This will only happen the first time you load each area and can be safely ignored. It means the game was trying to reload an interaction using an object that is no longer there. (usually an art easel or a grill).
You may get a last exception that says "final product [...]UnavailablePackSafeResourceError". This is an annoying thing EA introduced, the game is flagging a food/drink recipe you don't have. To avoid these last exceptions, you can download all of my custom food and drink. If you don't want all my custom recipes, you can safely ignore these reports.
Sometimes game updates / patches reset the world files. All you have to do is reinstall them again after the update.
Clear your game cache frequently. This guide is great!
Please DM me on Patreon if you have any questions or issues. I'm happy to help.
You can also dm me on Tumblr, but I might not see it right away.
You can also leave comments. But I may not see it right away or at all because I get so many notifications everyday, and comments are harder to see.
Thank you for enjoying my work! Your support means everything to me.
Have fun! ♡
