Hey everyone! Time to finally get into the Reality TV Mod that I have been talking about since last year! This mod has grown into something much bigger than I originally planned but in the best way possible.

TL;DR Version

This Mod allows you to run & be part of your own reality tv show in Sims 4. You (the player) are essentially the producer! You cast your contestants, name your show and film different types of episodes with actual gameplay.

Whats in the Mod

• Episode & Season System - Different types of episodes with different interactions

• Drama Points - A stat that tracks how chaotic each cast member has been. It feeds into Eliminations, Voting, Villain System and more

• Challenges - Most of the challenges are NOT rabbit hole so you get to enjoy the drama unfold in front of your eyes!

• Coupling - Cast members can couple up, and some can even be stolen from their partners!

• Eliminations - Sims can be eliminated from the show - with 3 different ways it can happen depending on how you play

• Villain - Sims can be villains of the season based on their drama points

• Fame & Reputation Integration - Cast members gain fame/reputation based on certain interaction

• & Much More!

Setting Up the Mod

Before you can really dive into the mod, please make sure you go through the setup process!! Its shown better in the video above.

On the computer, under Reality TV, you have to pick your show type! PLEASE PICK DATING, THE OTHERS DON'T HAVE ANY GAMEPLAY YETTTTT.

Once you have done that, go back to the computer and under Reality TV - Reality TV Mod Settings, you can now select a Producer! This must be done BEFORE your audition (thankya). The producer also CAN'T be a cast member!!

AUDITION

Now your sim can audition for the reality tv show. There are 3 ways to do this and one of them is a cheat.

First -> On the Computer, in the Reality TV Menu - Attend Audition. This is a 2 hours rabbithole audition. Passing or Failing is all based on your sims Skills & Traits such as Charisma.

Second -> With the Streaming Drone, you can now RECORD AUDITION. Once you have recorded the audition, you can send the tape off. This is a 2 days gameplay. After 2 days, you will hear back on whether your video passed the audition or not

Third -> Shift Click on your Sim and under Reality TV, you will find the Cheat: Pass Reality TV Audition

Naming Your Show

Now, Under the same Reality TV Menu on the computer, you can give your show a Name. This interaction is REQUIRED because a lot of the gameplay references the show's name so go crazy naming it!

Cast Members

Under Reality TV on the Computer, you can now Assign Cast Members. These members MUST be in the household for the gameplay associated with the mod to work! Cast Members can't be NPCs until they've been eliminated.

The Episode System

The mod has three episode types, each with their own set of interactions and gameplay:

Regular Episodes are your standard filming days. Challenges, confessionals, social interactions and the couple up ceremony all live here. At the end of each regular episode the public vote fires every two episodes to determine the Fan Favourite Couple.

Elimination Episodes are when someone goes home. The elimination can happen three different ways depending on how you want to play it. There is a manual picker where you choose who leaves, a Viewer's Choice weighted elimination where lower drama sims are more likely to go, and a drama based option. Eliminated sims receive a goodbye message and any romantic partner they leave behind gets a heartbroken buff.

The Reunion Episode unlocks after a minimum number of episodes have been played. The host returns, eliminated cast members are called back to the lot, and a Season Recap and Final Superlatives interaction wrap up the season.

Make sure at the end of the episodes, you end them! You can't start a new episode without ending one. (Shown in the video above).

Challenges

Most challenges are not rabbit holes so the gameplay actually plays out in front of you. The current challenge set includes:

The Compatibility Challenge is a social-based challenge that affect relationship stats and drama points based on outcomes.

Physical Challenges include a Makeover Challenge, Obstacle Course and Cooking Challenge, both with weighted outcomes based on relevant skills.

Spill or Stir is a truth or dare style challenge where sims choose to either Spill or Stir. Each option has multiple prompt pools with six variants each, and some Spill prompts are only eligible if a romantic relationship exists between the sims involved.

Who's Secret Is This is a secret-based game where sims write secrets to a file and the group tries to guess who a randomly revealed secret belongs to.

Most Likely To assigns randomised superlatives to cast members with drama and buff outcomes attached.

Drama Points

Drama Points are a custom statistic that tracks how chaotic each cast member has been throughout the season. They are earned through challenges, social interactions and specific events and they feed into almost everything in the mod.

Drama Points affect who is at risk during a Viewer's Choice elimination, who is eligible to become the villain, how the public vote is weighted, how viewer opinion posts are generated in the SMA crossover, and how the Season Recap ranks the most dramatic cast members. It is essentially the backbone of the whole system.

Coupling

The Couple Up system is one of the most involved parts of the mod. During regular episodes the player can run a coupling ceremony where cast members are paired up. Partners can be stolen from each other using the Steal interaction. Sims who end up without a partner at the end of the ceremony receive the Flying Solo buff.

At the end of the coupling, please make sure you are ENDING THE COUPLING otherwise the relevant gameplay effects won't happen

At the end of every two regular episodes the Fan Favourite Couple public vote fires automatically as long as at least one pairing exists. The vote is weighted using romance score, friendship score, average drama points and a small random jitter so the result is not completely predictable.

Villain System

When a cast member's drama points reach the threshold of 50, a confirmation popup fires on that sim at the end of the episode asking whether they accept their role as the villain of the season. The popup only fires once per sim per season so if they decline they will not be asked again until a new season starts.

The Villain trait will then unlock the ability for the sim to be more likely to autonomously choose mean and dramatic interactions through the game's autonomy system.

There is also a player-triggered Crown the Villain interaction that opens a SimPicker showing all eligible cast members sorted by drama points. The current villain is marked in the picker so the player can see who holds the title before making a change.

Villain Redemption is a Charisma-weighted interaction called Clean Up Their Image. The base success chance is 30% and each Charisma level adds 5% capped at 75%. On success the villain trait and buff are removed and the sim's drama points are drastically reduced to reflect the redemption. On failure nothing changes and the sim can try again.

Social Media Add-on Crossover

For Simmers who have my Social Media Add-on, there's a new interaction where you can view 'Audience Opinions' on a new timeline of viewers will be reacting to the show and cast members.

Cheats

Outside of Shift Clicking on a Sim for some Reality TV Cheats, you can now view more cheats via the cheats console, for when things need resetting mid-playthrough.

You can access this by typing 'realitytv.cheats' in the cheat console

What's Coming Next?

If you've seen the video, you will already know that I plan on releasing more show types so that is definitely a priority. Each show type will have its own detailed gameplay like above so it will be released in parts!

More interaction for the Producer gameplay, more social interactions overall and more Interactions for the Villain gameplay.
