Development Blog #2 - HUB

Hi everyone,

I wanted to give you a quick update on the progress of my work before the final build of version 1.07. I don’t think this will make it into the game before 1.08, alongside the Under Haven overhaul and the development of quests and relationships with Cid, Bullet, and Jessy, but here’s a preview of the future HUB and its seven icons: “Character,” “Map,” “Quests,” “Phone,” “Items,” “Walkthrough,” and “Close.”

I’m doing my best to make the game much more enjoyable to explore, with a proper navigation system at last, fast travel, hints, and more. I also hope to fully take advantage of recruiting certain characters to help complete quests, unlock situations, and trigger new dialogues or events.

I’ll let you take a look at the preview images to see how it all looks, as well as what Under Haven will look like in the future. I originally designed this sector at the very beginning of the project, and I’ve made a lot of progress since then. Because it serves as the game’s starting area, I want to greatly improve the player experience there by expanding it with several quests and NPCs.
