🇮🇸 Iceland Tierlist Ranking since 2009

Love watching this series, both for revisiting songs and seeing your reactions and rankings. 2009: I mean, talk about starting off with a bang. This is undoubtedly one of Icelands best entries, quite deserving of its high finish. Starting with a goopy even if sonically its not something id put on. 2010: This is absolutely iconic, definitely one of the entries I remember the most from my earlier years of watching esc. Still slaps. Goopy for sure, maybe more so than 2009 👀. 2011: I vaguely remember this one. Ngl theres something kinda wholesome about it (it reminds me of Hungary 2013 and Malta I think the same year) Its probably low Ah yeah grand for me. 2012: This is great. This is such a memorable entry. Probably one of my favourite Icelandic entries, maybe like top 5 or 3. Goopy again. 2013: Its aight. Maybe boo urns. 2014: I love this one!!! Unironically goopy for me, such a fun entry. Beginning to see that I love a lot of Icelandic esc songs. 2015: I loved this at the time, this was one of my first entries that I liked nqing. I'd probably put it Firefighter 12 points now. 2016: One of the biggest robberies in esc. I was fuming this didnt make it. Still love it. Another Goopy. I love the graphics personally. 2017: We've had such a good streak so far but unfortunately think this might be the start of songs I dont like. Ngl, I hate this song, it like proper annoys me, idk why and the staging was just 🤯🤦🏼‍♀️. Giga womp womp unfortunately. I just remember at the time thinking, lyrically, this was one of the weakest songs ive heard in esc and nothing about the live performance won me over. 2018: Now, the interesting thing for this one was, for some reason, this clicked for me when it was first selected. Like I did listen to it and ranked it relatively well, but in hindsight, what on earth was I thinking. Great vocals and all but song wise, has to be a Giga womp womp. 2019: I mean this respectfully, sonically pretty much the polar opposite of my music taste. I dont want to rank it Giga womp womp because the performance objectively was very well done but as a song, not my cuppa in the slightest. Boo urns seems harsh but given my music taste, I kind of have to put it there. Major respect though for showing the Palestine banner. 2020: My family still go on about this song and are all convinced this would've won in 2020. Sonically again, not at all my cuppa but undeniably, a fun entry that would've gotten one of Icelands best results. This also visually stands out so much. (I think Italy would've won btw). I think either ah yeah Grand or boo urns just on my personal taste. 2021: I mean, similar story to 2020, not my cuppa but I do respect it a lot. Same ranking as 2020. 2022: I like this entry, im glad they qualified. Id probably put it ah yeah Grand. 2023: I think the song isnt the strongest but I still quite like it and Diljá is a great performer. Ngl, I forgot this song existed, so its maybe boo urns. 2024: Giga Womp womp. 2025: Love this, Goopy again. The staging is incredible.
