Post Death Note and Vinland Saga S2, if anime is still something you'd like to watch, I recommend Erased, Monster, Orb: On the Movements of the Earth, and maybe Mushishi? There's a lot out there that inspire some deeper introspection and fit the vibe of what you've been enjoying.

Man I’m so excited for these last few episodes

about the princes personality shift. I think about it quite a lot, of it being displayed throughout some of my favourite TV. Almost like a Crisis of faith with his breakthrough. Abit Like Cersei Lannister in GOT after the 7 or Prince Philip in the crown. I really like those major personality breakthroughs but I do think it’s important at core that the person is able to show cracks of previous emotions and behaviours from time to time to maintain consistent. But I do love how it’s displayed through television. Some of my favourite developments of character throughout TV.

i believe that once you are done with s2 of vinland you will realize how much the motifs of the show are also already very present very early on such as in aot as u mentioned

I wouldn’t say that Askeladd necessarily planned this. I fell the show is implying that it was a "gamble" he made. Which is something his own men were implying as well when they betrayed him (talking about how his luck had run out, that this gamble was not paying off etc)

Once you finish Vinland saga and Deathnote please watch Monster. Everyone recommend that to him, he will absolutely love it.
