Leaving this as a response to Bomb's latest comment. Note that his defense is to confirm that everything I say is true, even as his supporters run defense by calling me a liar. They need to pick a lane. The point Bomb doesn't recognize is that no *game* dev operates a patreon this way. Nor should they. As for the claim I “sneaked back into his Patreon” however many times. It's false, likely a mistake of believing anyone who is anti-DRM is the same person. A ridiculous stance given how common such sentiments are in the industry today (Playstation anyone?). But even if we took him at his word, so what? Does that suddenly make DRM practices in games okay? Does that make his structuring in his game any less greedy? It doesn't. All Bomb would have to do to silence any such criticism is remove such measures in his game. An act that would only make his game all the more accessible to the people supporting him. Watch as he does none of that.
I just want people to be aware that Josh lost access to my content, because he is a troll whom I've had to ban from my patreon for increasingly aggressive and obnoxious conduct, several times. Also fyi, this is the second time he's attacked a cross promotion post that I've made. Literal obsession.
Here is an easy way to settle this. Is he lying about anything he said in the post?
Warning to anyone interested: This game has online DRM, where you lose access to modes if your subscription ever ends. Additionally, it has content hidden behind overpriced DLC ($40 USD worth), overly grindy mechanics that can be alleviated only by paying more money with a higher tier sub. The dev also likes using FOMO to keep you subbed, unless you miss out on time limited release content; discriminating between those that have a subscription and a recurring one. Just wanted to make everyone aware of what you would be supporting and encourage you to vote with your time and money. We do not need the very worst of the AAA market practices in our indie projects.
Do you have anything better to do than complain about this?
