Animation Tools Update
While my next animation is rendering (yay!), I have time to do some housekeeping and improve the tools available to Animation Tier supporters. I cleaned out some slop, improved performance, and packed everything as an add-on. I also added a new tool to the list.
Just like I discussed in the previous post, the philosophy behind these tools is to make the animation process easier, specifically with the Animation Layers add-on. The core idea behind these tools is to keep everything within the scope of the armature. They are my answer to some of the most frustrating issues I’ve encountered during my animations so far.
The new tool, Drive with Bone, follows a similar path. It allows you to easily set up drivers for shape keys or custom properties across multiple objects and bind them to a bone, so you can animate everything you need as part of your Animation Layer. A typical use case is quickly setting up drivers for leg or arm bends, or for breathing animation.
Currently, it is a separate add-on, but I plan to integrate it into AT in the future once everything is more stable.
The tools have been tested in 4.5 and 5.1. You can find everything in the archive
Please report any bugs!
