Step Up video early access for Patrons!
Hey dance crew mates,
Unfortunately I've gotten embroiled in a copyright dispute on YouTube, meaning that I can't make the Step Up video public until I get it sorted out. So in the meantime, I've decided to upload it straight to Patreon for all you loyal paying customers. Enjoy! Thanks so much for your support during the long production process.

jane! you absolutely nailed this! i just finished my dance undergrad and have also been thirsting for some kind of serious analysis again. though i’ve had faith in your dance knowledge ever since you pointed out “iconic pina bausch choreography” in the degrassi (?) video LOL
lol I really don't know very much about dance! I know Pina Bausch because she was featured in Talk to Her, which is one of my favorite movies, and there's a great Wim Wenders documentary about her that I've also seen. I think most if not all of my dance knowledge comes from movies. I did take a tap class last year, entirely because I'd gotten obsessed with the Fred and Ginger movies....
Been waiting for this one and it did not disappoint!
a movie usually has me in the palm of its hand when they blend the clashing genres in a finale that shakes up this sleepy town/competition/school 😆 if my love for the final performaces in bring it on and pitch perfect are anything to go by.
Robin Thicke is now my enemy for 5 reasons
The way I cheered when you said it was gay interlude time 🙂↕️
what a great video, as always ☺️
Pouring a glass of something good for this one
The Robin Thicke song activated me like a sleeper cell bc the song it sampled was the historic lip sync song for Jinkx Monsoon vs Detox in RPDR S5 Also....of COURSE Adam Shankman produced every single one of these movies, choreographer-turned-directors are obsessed with his subgenre
Shankman cameos in Step Up: All In as the drunk carnival ride operator who turns on the ride for Sean and Andie to dance on!
This is humiliating but step up 3d is when I learned you can double major in things
kinda charmed by that badly accented dance teacher almost reaching a transatlantic starlet affectation in some of his line deliveries.....
This is the last comment, I promise, but I just wanna say I would absolutely pay real human money to see you go through the YouTube Red Step Up series and/or the Bring It On movies
Haha the youtube red series might be too much for me but I've seriously considered Bring It On! That would be a fun one
AHHH OMG i haven’t even watched it yet but this just made my day tysm
Omg the British guy who's trying not to be British in Step Up 2 is the werewolf from Van Helsing
Only just finished the section on Step Up 1 so I apologize if this comes up later, but I feel like the treatment of ballet in street dance movies really misses an opportunity to draw some parallels between the ways that the rough life circumstances of the street dancers put their health at risk and the ways that ballet puts its dancers' health at risk--like, give me some inappropriately overblown montages cutting between stitching up bullet wounds and cleaning bloody pointe shoes, you know? I'm not saying it would be GOOD, but it would be INTERESTING
yes haha, love it when my comments end up in videos!
What can I say you're around a lot!
OH HAPPY DAYSSSSSSSS!!!! Very surprised that its this short omg, lemme get into this!!!!!
"this short" is crazy 😭
Woah!
