Rat Game - out now!

Hi everyone!

Today we're releasing our new game: Rat Game. It is an asymmetrical horror comedy co-op game for up to 8 players, where you play either a pack of Rats trying to sabotage a restaurant, or the Chef determined to stop them.

The Rats win by completing tasks in the restaurant, such as chewing through cables or hacking the computer. The Chef wins by catching or exterminating all the Rats.

I've been working on this game for almost 2 years now (!) which makes it my biggest project yet. It was really fun to put a lot of thought into every aspect of the game. One thing that I really like about the game is the way it plays out differently every time. It always takes place in the same level, but the tasks, items, and locations the rats enter the level are randomized every game, so it always feel like a new "heist" - if that makes sense, haha!

I also really enjoyed getting better at a whole bunch of skills during the project, such as modelling in Blender, creating textures in Substance Designer, making fake food products, using FMOD, lighting 3D spaces, and even doing some graffiti for the bathroom, haha. One of my favorite things about making games is learning new things, and that was definitely a big part of this whole journey!

Because it was such a big project, I decided to enlist some help early on. I collaborated with Tumult Kollektiv from Berlin, who did the sound design and music, and they did an amazing job. The audio really helps create the horror aspect of the game. It was very fun working together with them :)

I think it's a great game for Halloween, so I hope you'll enjoy playing it!!
