Formula One 2005 | Showcase and Development Updates
We’re bringing the next generation of Formula One classic cars to Assetto Corsa, thanks to your incredible support!🏁
Featuring the most detailed models we’ve ever created, I’m proud to confirm that the Formula One 2005 season, made entirely from scratch, coming to Assetto Corsa in 2026, developed in collaboration with MHRacing authors of the most accurate Formula One cars made in any sim racing title.
We're proud to carry on MHR's legacy and continue their work on the 2005 cars, giving each one the same level of care, attention to detail and commitment to accuracy that defined their original work.
This collaboration goes far beyond working with top-tier 3D artists. It allows us to deliver Formula One cars with an uncompromising level of visual and physics details and accuracy, setting a new benchmark for simulator quality.
Redefining Classic Formula One in Sim Racing
The season will feature every car built to the highest standard possible, from the leading teams to the midfield and backmarkers, with no exceptions. Every car is treated with the same level of care, authenticity, and attention to detail, exactly how we envisioned it from the very beginning. Extensive photographic references and highly detailed technical illustrations made by Giorgio Piola were used throughout development to ensure every shape, surface, and aerodynamic detail is represented as accurately as possible.
Real Structure-Based Development
Every car is built starting from the real engine dimensions and internal structure outward, with the chassis completed progressively around those components. This means there are no guesses when it comes to proportions, dimensions, or overall shapes, everything is developed based on accurate references and real structural layouts.
The Full 2005 Grid Completed.
Recreate the authentic TV onboard camera experience and relive the epic moments of the 2005 Formula One season.
A Tribute to the Golden Era of Formula One
Reminiscing one of the sport’s most defining and iconic seasons. 2005 marked a turning point, as Fernando Alonso and Renault ended the dominant era of Ferrari and Michael Schumacher, while Kimi Räikkönen and McLaren pushed them all the way.
It was also the final season for iconic teams like Jordan and Minardi, defined by fierce rivalries, the Michelin vs Bridgestone tyre war, dramatic races, and the unmistakable atmosphere of early-2000s Formula One.
From complete race weekends to full championships, we want you to experience the 2005 season as it was meant to be raced.
Next generation of Formula One classic cars
Here is a side-by-side look at the onboard footage from each car in Assetto Corsa. With full respect to the incredible work done by CTDP, VRC, and Kunos on their respective cars, this comparison simply showcases why we consider the 2005 Season cars to be true “next-gen” F1 cars. The level of detail in our models goes far beyond what Codemasters achieves, setting a new benchmark for visual fidelity and immersion. This is clearly evident when comparing Codemasters’ F2004 and the laser scanned FW25 Williams with our own F2005 and FW23 Williams cars.
Road to Assetto Corsa EVO - Raising the Bar in Sim Racing
With a new generation of highly accurate cars already in development, Assetto Corsa EVO has officially entered the modding era. Moving forward, we will be focusing on creating content for both the original Assetto Corsa and Assetto Corsa EVO..
With EVO already introducing an open-world environment and modding support already available, the platform has the potential to become one of the ultimate sim racing experiences alongside AC1 for many years to come. The continued expansion of what is possible in AC1, combined with the potential of EVO, aligns perfectly with our vision for the perfect sim.
What also sets our project apart is that every team receives the same level of care and attention to detail. Each car is treated as its own piece of history, from the front-runners and midfielders to the backmarkers. This is an approach rarely seen in the modding community, and even less in complete modern racing titles. Even with the recent achievements of modding in the F1 game, the limited selection of classic cars and reliance on outdated assets remain a major limitation.
The Fulll 2005 Season is coming to EVO!
We’re currently polishing the final small details, so very soon you’ll be able to experience the complete 2005 grid in EVO, with every team and car properly represented.
Our EVO releases do not rely on Kunos assets such as tyres, driver or physics. Instead, we use improved custom assets, physics and details, including more accurate era-specific drivers, helmets, tyres and cars behaviour.

✅LATEST RELEASE UPDATES — 29/10/26 ✅
The physics are being developed individually for each car, using the available data and the specific characteristics of each team. However, to avoid delaying the release further, V1.0 may feature a shared physics base across the grid, with V2.0 introducing different performances and car-specific physics for every team.
With the 2005 season, we're not simply looking to release another mod and move on to the next project. This season represents a major part of my vision for Formula One mods. I want to ensure that we deliver something that genuinely meets your expectations, with car models and physics that push the level of detail and realism that surpasses what even fully fledged racing games have offered over the years.
As some of you may remember, we originally planned to collaborate with another team and include their existing Red Bull in the complete grid. Unfortunately, after discussing the scope of the project, we couldn't reach an agreement, as certain physics modifications would have been necessary to integrate their car properly.
The good news is that an entirely new 2005 Red Bull RB1 has already been completed and is fully functional in Assetto Corsa!
This means we can now focus entirely on the physics development and final stages of production. A release date will be announced within the next few days. Really... DAYS not weeks. :)
We're also collaborating with experienced people in AI on Assetto Corsa, using Claude as an additional tool to reverse engineer and bring the racing behaviour from the F1 game into Assetto. Combined with our improved physics, our goal is to deliver a truly competitive racing experience, with AI that fights for position, defends intelligently, and makes every race, Full championship or an eventual Career Mode feel more authentic, More on that soon.
Thank you all for your patience and understanding throughout the process. Your support genuinely means a lot to us, and we're committed to delivering a season that lives up to the standards we're setting with our latest projects.
Rest assured, the wait will be worth it.

THAT RB LOOKS GORGEOUS
Every car is built on extensive research. Unlike many mods, we don't reuse suspensions; each car has its own unique geometry and details, faithfully recreated. Releasing soon!
Can you please keep updating the normal assetto corsa 2026 f1 mod pls🙏
Yes, 2026 mod will receive a major update, including updated physics, new cars, Austin liveries pack, and much more. Thank you for your patience and continued support!
Any update on the mod?
is the mod dropping this week?or will it drop next week most likely?
If possible could you also add the livery changes for all teams across all GPs for 2013?Other drivers may have had special helmets as well apart from Seb .For intsance,Perez's helmet at monaco 2013

Are you gonna add more Vettel helmets across GPs in the 2013 mod?Because Seb wore more than the ones at Bahrain, monaco and germany,
Yes, 2013 will also receive a major update once we relase what is announced! Thanks for your support!
Release this weekend?
Hi mate! The 2005 season should be ready sometime next week. Thanks for your patience and understanding. We're adding the final details, and I really want to make sure the season reaches a good level of quality, even in its very first version. I appreciate your support.
Honestly, pretty excited for this mod regardless of whether it comes with stock liveries or clean templates. Just wanted to show some support—any rough update or ETA on when the base build might drop? Keep up the awesome work dude
Hi! This is exactly the kind of support we love, all the kind words are genuinely appreciated, Thank you! to give you an idea of the timing: the last cars are currently being polished, (Mclaren, Williams) small details and physics, so it’s very likely we’ll be able to release v1.0 next week.
Any news on an estimated release date? 🙂
Hey! very close to release now, just finishing the small details on the cars and physics. The Red Bull has also made a lot of progress. Thanks for your patience! :)
After this, what season will you focus on?2011?
2011 is definitely an interesting option! Once 2005 is released, we’ll run some polls to see which season we focus on next.
Hopefully the wait is actually worth it
It will be worth it! physics paired to the level of the models :)
Really excited for the release of this
Thank you, Rakin! The wait will definitely be worth it 🙌 Really excited for you to experience a proper 2005 season!
It was supposed to come out yesterday...another missed release... It makes you think there are some really major problems with this mod.
Delays can happen for many reasons. Some people I collab with were on holiday, others weren’t available, and that affected the timeline. As explained in the updated description, we were also considering a collaboration for the existing RB1, but that didn’t work out, so we decided to build a completely new RB1 ourselves. In the end, that was the better decision, as the new model will improve significantly over any existing versions. There are no major problems with development. We simply care about the level of detail and accuracy we’re putting into every car and physics, as they will not be generic and that takes time. I understand the frustration, but if you want extremely fast releases, there are other teams that work that way. Our priority is quality, not rushing something out just to meet a date. Hope you understand that.
not release today?
Hi Jeremy, kindly read the updated description on why it was delayed. But don’t worry, it won’t be a long wait!
is it only for AC Evo?
This season will be released on Assetto Corsa first, later on available on EVO.
How long is the delay?
Realistically, it should be released around the first week of October, but it could possibly be ready a little earlier. Apologies for any inconvenience, but the physics level is going to be matched to the level of detail of each model.
are you guys gonna make a 2004 season?
The 2004 season has already been released. Of course, we’re planning to make a completely new version as well, it’s just a matter of time.

I still can not believe it. I waited for this so much 😍 Many thanks, to all of you, who keep creating these wonderful mods. (On the other hand, is a ‘96 and/or ‘97 mod possible from you in the future?)
Thank you so much! Really appreciate the support. We definitely have a lot more seasons planned for the future, and 1996/1997 are absolutely in our target. For now, we have to focus on the seasons currently in development, but hopefully we can get to them one day.
I understand that developing mods is complex and time-consuming, but since we pay a monthly fee (meaning the longer it takes, the more we pay ) it would be appropriate to provide a realistic release date. Instead, for months we have been told the release is imminent, only for those announcements to go unfulfilled. At the very least, one car from the roster should be released so we can test the work done so far.
I completely understand your point. I was originally aiming for an August release, but some of the people I collab with were either busy or away on short holidays, which caused the delay. Regarding the monthly support, the project is funded through your support, and without it we simply wouldn’t be able to continue. At the moment, the physics are being defined and the cars are being refined, so the release will most likely be this month. I appreciate your patience and support, we’re getting very close to be ready.
What is status on the 2005 mod?
Its already august tho
The 2006 mod also gonna go to the Asseto Corsa EVO too?
The 2001/ 2004/ 2005 seasons, along with the 2026 cars are all coming to Assetto Corsa EVO.

On F2005 car, the right mirror is higher than the left
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/3MCsxMZDkDw could you make this car in AC , the F2005 Original version , which said to be over 1.5second faster than F2004
From what I know the F2005 was never faster than the F2004, that probably comes from early testing or theory on the newer version.
The cars all look super pretty and well made. Do you think you can beat VRC on the MP4-20 in terms of overall quality?
Thank you! Yes, definitely, these cars are already being tested, and for sure they’re well above what is currently available in AC.
Cuánto le queda a esta maravilla? 🙌🙌
Apuntamos a un lanzamiento en primavera, llevará algo de tiempo completarlos con la calidad que queremos, pero seguro que llegará. Gracias por tu apoyo.
Will we have the star was red bull from monaco 05?👀
The RedBull will be the final car to be developed, but if we do it, for sure we will add that legendary livery.
Absolutely can’t wait for these updated mods to come out quality speaks for itself happy supporter of your work
Thank you for the support, is what really helps us to develop everything faster!
I hope everything stated here comes true, and...thank you for existing
That’s truly appreciated, thank you for believing in this vision.
You guys should try make a f1 2010 hud\tv graphics mod to go with the f1 2010 mod you guys already made!
The 2010 TV HUD is on the plans just as many others!
Does this mean we will get fw26 level quality on each car ?
Quality goes beyond any car mod we have available at the moment :)
Hypeeeeeeee
