Sales Tax Notice *DEEP SIGH*
Hey guys, as some of you might know Patreon has informed me that as of July they will be implementing Sales Tax for certain tiers/patrons and has asked that we share this information with you guys.
I'm not sure how this will be affecting you guys since I consider a lot of what I post on here to be "Behind the Scenes Content" which is largely nontaxable, but I have tried my best to go in and edit the language in the Patreon tiers to better reflect the content that I've been posting (i.e. I don't always post downloadable PSD files since they are massive but occasionally I do). That being said, this is not going to affect the way in which I have been making posts!
Let's cross our fingers and hope that these new changes are not going to be affecting you guys too much! Let me know if you have any questions or concerns. I honestly wish we could just send you the payments direct to your paypal or bank account. After all we don't even know if our $1, $3, $5 or $10 go directly to you guys. You guys should be getting the entire amount. Each of us support the writer and creators because we love the stories and plots and at times the cliff hangers. Lol
I will always support your works Junepurr maybe one day, Subzero will be an anime or a live action movie or television series that has been picked up by movie producers. Thank you for the heads-up June. With all honesty, I prefer that artist will just have their own bank accounts where we can directly send our support instead of having a middle man. I maybe wrong but it’s just me. I know how hard creators/artist dedicate their time, money, effort, health and energy to put things beautifully together. They just deserve iall the accolades and earnings. Again, no offense.
No offense at all! I agree Erika, I use Patreon because they make it easy to use the tier system but at the end of the day there's still a good amount that gets eaten by Patreon and Paypal alike (since there is no direct deposit from Patreon to our bank that I know of). I have a business acct and I keep track of basic expenses/costs so I think it would be much smarter to set up a system where creators have access to all their funds. Still I suppose the ease of using Patreon is what makes it worth it for me (if that makes sense). Depending how things go from here on out with the sales tax and how it affects all of you I will see if there are other similar options as well! :D
