Life Update (August 2026)

Hello my dear Dragons!!!!

I promised you a life update a few weeks ago but life gets away from me so quickly and aside from the weekly episode struggles I didn’t have much to share with you, unfortunately. :"D

Truly, I feel like since SZ started I’ve been in a race to catch my breath every week. After years of grinding I’ve ALMOST reached the end of SubZero. However, with these long tedious action episodes I actually think I spent MY LAST braincell trying to get these chapters out.

Here are the Previews from EP 267 that came out 2 weeks ago! (I like how these panels turned out)

I was hanging on by a thread the last few chapters (effects/dragon battles/so much plot and action) and by the time Episode 167 was released, (FOUR HOURS after the upload deadline) I was crying at my desk and coughing like a chain smoker. These are usually tears of frustration at not being able to make the final product my vision (I still want to go and tweak some panels in the episode). I've also had a non-stop cough, probably from stress and neck strain that only recently started going away (I'm fine thank you! :D). As a creator I think sharing my behind-the-scenes mental breakdown can take away from the story, so I try not to do it too often.... but I also don't want to gloss over the difficulties of creating this series at the rate I've been going. (NOTE: Sometimes, I'm surprised that readers can even understand what's going on in the series considering I'm literally drawing out MY HALLUCINATIONS often while very sleep deprived and unsure if the scenes even make sense. Really thinking about it, Clove and Kyro live rent-free in my mind and I'm just a medium telling their story on the canvas. )

Anyways, as Episode 267 ended up reaching the ALMOST FINALE of the series I asked the WT team for a breather so I'd have time to recover from my cough, and work on the finale at a reasonable pace. As mentioned in the hiatus notice, Clove and Kyro will be attending their coronation ceremony, so I'm pulling out the old fancy garments once again!

Here are some VERY OLD recycled concepts from the WEDDING that were never used. Initially there was a Purple theme for wedding (Instead of Black and Gold) but I figured it would be better to save purple for Season 3 IF I ever managed to make it this far! THESE ARE NOT FINAL so please keep in mind that the design you see online might be different from this one! ^^

I sound like a broken record but thank you again for being so patient and supportive despite my usual late uploads and many breaks. When we return, I plan to have a 2 part Series Finale and perhaps an epilogue or two with a time skip to show what the characters will have been up to. I am so thankful and amazed to have made it this far. Thank you for your endless support!

SubZero will return September 6th!
