Life Update (Cons + Anime Expo!!!)

Hello my Dragons!!! Long time no see this month… genuinely I can’t believe the number of things I’ve managed to stuff into this month while struggling to make my return eps in the meantime.

Unfortunately, the universe threw me another curveball so while my intention was for SubZero episodes to resume at the end of this month, I’ll be pushing things back until early-mid July (the first or second weeks -> 6th or 13th is my intended return date).

Also, what's with this new layout and icon on the WT site?

I hope to reach out to WT to give me something better than… an eyeball for a comic image. Does anyone else miss the old banners? (just me???)

Before I tell you where I'm going, I wanted to share some pics of where I've been this past month (skip to the end if you don't care!)

First, Dokomi. I took off to Germany on June 2nd  carrying my booth display and probably 200lbs of books and merch… Thank goodness my partner was there to help me carry everything because those SubZero books were HEAVY!!!!

Here are a few pictures from Germany well as what the booth setup looked like before and after. Fun fact #1. I forgot ALL my connectors and went around begging different artists until I had begged my way to a complete booth. Fun Fact #2. I didn’t bring a tablecloth with me, so we improvised my making one out of a roll of carpet we found lying around Q_____Q Honestly, with the amount of last minute things that went wrong I thought the entire convention would be a disaster, but it ended up being really awesome and fun.

The first day alone, we managed to sell out of all SubZero copies I had on hand (even my test copies had people wanting to buy them straight up but I insisted they at least wait until Sunday). I was so stunned to learn I even had readers in Germany to begin with, but there were also readers from France, Spain, Austria, etc. I also got to meet a ton of other WT creators including Miyuli (Morgana and Oz), Fishball (Giant Nerd Boyfriend), Refrainbow (Boyfriends) + Lysandra (Covenant). I also happened to see artists that I had followed on social media for YEARS before actually seeing their art in person (Of course my awkward self only went and gazed at them from afar). Despite the stress of doing an international convention, I am really glad I actually got to step out of my comfort zone and meet international readers. It's something I would definitely recommend

Tokyo X! Despite arriving from Germany just 1 day before setup, this happened to be my best Tokyo X experience! My giant capybara sign did a lot of work pulling drawing so much attention and at least this time I didn’t run out of books! Genuinely, it made me so happy to see the surprise on everyone’s faces when they realized we finally had physical books. :""D

So now what? I'll be in LA for the next two weeks attending a Webtoon Bootcamp of sorts and dropping by Anime Expo for a Thursday signing as well!!!! (Let me know if you're in the area and yes you can bring me your books to sign!!!) WT is setting up some cintiqs for us to work on but knowing how rough it is to work in an unfamiliar workspace I didn't want to risk dropping one episodes and immediately struggle to get the next one in (I promise to update everyone on the setup as soon as I can).

This WT bootcamp was a very sudden (and rare) opportunity to improve our skillset. As many of you know, I have no formal art training so the possibility of lessons on HOW-TO-WEBTOON got me excited and ready to take some notes! By the time you read this I will have probably landed in LA!

Thank you so much for your patience and I can't wait to drop some sneak peeks of the upcoming episodes very soon!
