Webcomics affect my life by creating many worlds I can visit. Seeing art styles vary, styles of storytelling and most importantly the characters. Authors work hard to create these characters that in some way are their children and sharing their stories with us. Webcomics soon became a platform that allowed me to find so many stories I could read from a screen. It become a favorite past time right before I go to bed, during my work breaks, and it become something I look forward to read weekly. My favorite is when I see a webcomic get recognized and gets turn into a printed book copy, movie adaptation, or animate series. I feel a sense of proudness these sources find webcomic artists and working to share their work in different platforms to widen the audience and getting more folks falling for these amazing characters.
Took me a while to get around to typing this up, but here it is! Webtoons has been a lifeline for me. I have ADD, so compared to other people, I have fewer Action Points to spend during the day (or spoons, if you adhere to spoon theory). It's very frustrating, but work/commute takes about 85% of all my Action Points per day, with helpful, adulty actions ("help husband cook dinner", "eat food", "help with dishes") consuming another 13 Action Points, leaving me with a whopping 2 Action Points per weekday to do.... anything, really. That's not enough to do much. So I read on Webtoons. The weekend comes, we spend 1 day doing chores, & the other day resting/relaxing/attempting to recover enough Action Points to resume the work week. I have D&D on Discord with my friends 2 times a month (usually closer to once a month) for 2 hours. I occasionally go hang out with my family for a few hours on my recovery day off. I don't talk with my coworkers because we work with machinery and talking involves not working (management dislikes this). So I don't really "people". Husband gets groceries & runs errands because his schedule is more flexible than mine. Webtoons is a lifeline where I can lose myself in another world for an hour or two & relax. It doesn't require many Action Points. For me, TV requires more Action Points because I'm paying attention to *everything* going on at the same time-- all the things in the background you don't notice, I see. Then there's the extra sensory information (music, sounds, emotional states, etc) that requires additional brain processing power to compute. Though I love reading, books require building entire worlds, objects, action scenes, & people all in my head. When I have more Action Points available to me, i love watching TV & reading books! I just usually don't have enough Action Points. Comics/graphic novels are the easiest media for me to enjoy-- emotional reactions are plainly obvious, action scenes are illustrated, items & magic look exactly as the author wants them to, I don't have to imagine what people look like, or imagine what the author is trying to convey. Everything is right there, exactly as the author intends it to be! I won't skip a paragraph by mistake because I'm tired & spend the next few pages wondering why everybody started trying to kill one another (this has happened, & it's very confusing). I can just quietly read & enjoy exactly what the story is supposed to be. I can get lost in political intrigue, ancient mysteries, betrayals, world lore, occasional bits of romance (not *too* much), and relax. Did that last sentence just describe SubZero to a T? Why yes, yes it did. SubZero has been a favorite on Webtoons. Some days, when I'm feeling extra blah & not even up for reading something new, I'll go back and reread SubZero. It's one of my go-to "I want something, but I don't know what" comics!
Webtoons helps me get away from all the craziness of everyday life and gives me more to look forward to! It helps me appreciate the little things in life ❤️ ESPECIALLY Subzero!! My most favorite ever and I love gushing about it to my friends, it's all I could ever want in a story ❤️❤️
Webtoons have had nothing but a positive experience in my life! I'm made new friends and had the chance to meet and chat with other creators over the years, including our lovely June 🧡 Webtoon creators will always have my support for making the last several years of my life full of joy 🥰
If I could go into the world of SZ, Karis & I would be like Blood Sisters who are always in trouble. Someone who has grown up with their family since I was a baby and can read minds in both dragon & human form. Although, no one would know about the ability in human form for the exception of Karis. Some things you cannot tell for it will be used against you. In the case of my parents, they were individuals who are considered family and were killed. Thankfully, they were able to have me smuggled away unknowingly to those who killed them. Hmmmmmm... I'm running out of ideas and will start going into my favorites, vampires. (Laughing)
If I were to go into the subzero universe I would simply want to have a one on one chat with Clove. We would have a discussion about overcoming hardship and having strength in your abilities, not what you can or cannot do. ( I relate to Clove a lot as someone who has an invisible/physical disability. She as a character reminds me that we decide who we are and what we can become if we just love ourselves and believe in our own inner strength.
Webcomics are like an escape from reality (especially this one I’ve been keeping up with it for years ever since it started). I’m a busy person with little to no free time and reading webcomics are like a quick and easy read. Don’t get me wrong I wish sometimes the characters are longer as I hate cliffhangers but they do get me excited for the next part!!
Webcomics give me the motivation and inspiration to write a story of my own. The art work and storylines never cease to amaze me, each story is unique. Subzero is one of my absolute favorites, the moments between clove and Kyra are the cutest
reading webtoon has given me inspiration to draw myself, even though I am not very good at it lol. 2. I would try to be friends with Karis!
If I were part of that world I'd love to be one of the court ladies watching the drama unfold, forming shipping fan clubs, gossiping and giggling lol!
Webcomics are an escape for me from the world of stress and dealing with my near non-existence father and it provides endless imaginations and magics in my thoughts where I can relax and let go of who I am in reality.
1) Webtoon comics for me are an escape from the real world, somewhere where I can live in this world of endless possibilities. They’re always something I know I can look forward to at the end of the day and in that I find comfort.
If I could go inside of the SZ world I definitly would like to be friend of Clove and Kyro, they are awesome, funny and very strong!!! I'd like to help them out when their are in troubles and support them in their battles. Bonus: Webcomics affect my life giving me the luck to meet this incredible story!
I (try) to only read my favorite stories as a way to reward myself for tasks id rather avoid. (I turned my ADHD into a game! Hurrah!) This system has been pretty effective-i was in a dark place mentally and financially, but I'm now out of debt! Sure, I did the actions but having weekly updates on my most hated or beloved characters from webcomics like SZ gave me a few routines I looked forward to following. Thank you for everything you do! 🔥🐉💙❤️ (Sorry for the ramble!)
Is I went inside subzero I think I would probably smack some of the curealen elders around a bit..... or maybe sabotage the jade vipers a little bit... maybe throw in a little spying on the enemy..
Oof I hope you be careful though as the vipers are scary (╯•﹏•╰)
Webcomics give me something to look forward to every week! Lore Olympus, SubZero, MCBK, Soren’s Lament, and so many other series have gotten me through a stressful job, then a masters degree, a rough twin pregnancy, and now the challenges of parenthood! Webtoons are my special thing, something for “me” time and a feeling of ownership in an otherwise crazy busy life!
Webtoon comics have impacted my life in an amazing way. Subzero has been one of my favorite comics for a long time and I get so excited to see a notification pop up that a new chapter is out. Reading comics gives me time to relax from my daily life and I get so excited to see all the plot twists and cliff hangers. I’ve been reading Webtoon for years and I still can’t get enough of it!
1) Webcomics gives me something to look forward to. It has always been a constant in my life. Whenever things are hard or there is a lot of change, I know that I have a comic waiting to read and escape reality for a little while. ❤️💙
Sometimes I worry that other kinds of media take over ... like why would I read comics when I can watch movies. But in reality I watch movies, listen to music, watch anime, read manga, read webcomics, and do a ton more whenever I have time away from the comic. (●´⌓`●) I think the only thing I don't really make time for is gaming but I kinda want to try one day.
Webcomics bring me so much joy. It’s just a nice break to enter into these beautiful stories. And I love romance. Especially when I have a hard day at work or my health issues flair up, I know I have my comics to look forward to! And it’s help me get back into art and follow at lot of really great artists.
If I was inside the SZ world I'd work as one of the maids. Since all they do is gossip and eavesdrop on the characters 😂
If I were in the world of Subzero, I'd probably become an itinerant traveller, discovering every unique place, even the most secret ones.
I love webcomics because I love to read and get pulled into a story. While also supporting a small artist in accomplishing their dreams. ❤️
If I were in the world of SZ I would live on my own in the forest with a nice little garden and lots of cats and not worry about anything, since it would be pretty hard to do that in the real world and it’s kind of a dream of mine :) (that or I’d work as a maid in the palace for the chance to see such beautiful people)
Webtoon made me fall in love with history. Your comic is how I met the love of my life. Thank you. But I developed a passion for history. And if I was in the SZ world I’d want to study the history and animals
I definitely watched a lot of period dramas when I thought up of SubZero haha, but I'm so happy to hear that. I hope you love horsies as much as I do. OWO < me just staring at horses all day
2. If I was a part of the SZ I would want to be a a Dragon. I go between a Blue dragon and a Red Dragon because I relate to them both. Being a Red dragon would be amazing because I've always been drawn to fire ( like a moth to a flame ) and the family bond and love they have is beautiful. They seem more able to express their emotions and are passionate and forward. I'm sorry for the pain and suffering they have endured but it has made them stronger in the end and it's beautiful. They have a "rise from the ashes" vibe or a help make land richer and fuller when you burn a field to help make the next crop healthy and stronger even though it looks like chaos and tragedy- in the end something beautiful comes from it all. The blue dragons are so amazing because they are more reserved and calm. Contemplative. Always thinking. "Coolheads and minds strong" they endure and kept their people as safe as possible. They showed compassion and love in a quiet way. I love the combination of fire and Ice pairings and how it symbolizes that the Ice calms the fire (and fire melts the ice ) and they simply complement each other's lives. So being either type of dragon would be rewarding. So obviously I'd really love to be a dragon regardless. Ive spend a lot of my time caring for others and managing stressful situations and choices so being royalty and caring for people would come natural to me. I already have tattoos so having a beautiful dragon tattoo would be awesome. And I'd love to have a beautiful intelligent horse that I love and can care for with unlimited resources. (I'm a horse girl forever and always).
I'm also a horse girl forever and always. I dream of sometimes just brushing shedding horses all day :D
Webtoons have really opened my mind to a new way of consuming stories. I love how easy to read and accessible they are for anyone with the app to read for free. It’s also given me a great sense of community since I’ve met so many people through our mutual love of Webtoons who I talk to pretty much every day!❤️
2. If I was in the world of SZ I would LOVE to be a dragon and apart of the royal dragon family. Especially the crimson clan 🫶 The powers, tattoos and all parts of being dragon royalty are really intriguing.
If I could go inside sz I’d want to be able to see the dragons take flight.
Thank you for your amazing work, it's truly stunning visually, and everyone who reads can tell the passion you put into each and every panel, and the love you have for your characters and work. If I were to enter the world of subzero, I would try to befriend someone in the court/enter the court myself. Goodness knows those two need someone on their side, and I'd LOVE to hear all about their adventures and troubles. Thanks again, you're awesome! 😁
1.Web comic affect my life by thinking to myself, do I resonate with this character? Would I be in there position if I was to enter their world? 2. If I were to enter into the world of SubZero I would love to hang out with Kharis, maybe drink some tea with her
I'm so stoked for this ❤️ 1: Webtoons give me a way to not only read but to also see the artist vision with the stories (i.e. characters looks, expressions, or worlds) instead of the visuals I see in my mind when I normally read... although I like a webtoon that has a novel counterpart. Reading has always been a sort of escape for me when I need to get away from the real world. I discovered webtoons about 12 years ago and I've come to prefer webtoons over novels because the art envokes a stronger emotional connection to the characters and I am able to appreciate the artists more because of the effort that is put into the art....even more so when there is a Patreon to support them more fully and career wise.
1) I first downloaded webtoon 6 years ago because my friend kept posting screenshots of webtoon panels on finsta. I mostly read the webtoon originals but soon moved into canvas to discover so many amazing artists and story tellers. When I got my first job, I decided to use some of my income to support my favorite webtoon artists and creators, like you!! I feel happy to know I’m supporting people creating art and doing jobs they enjoy. :))
Option 2: I would be a healer!! It would be awesome to be able to help heal them not through modern medicine but with herbal medication
I love webcomics and am excited to find quality ones (like yours) to read! They are my favorite past time. At times I learn something new reading them. 😉 Their chibis are adorable! 😍
Option 1 Response: I happened upon Webtoons a few years ago because of Facebook. I was instantly hooked! Webtoons have been a great source of relaxation and escapism for me - especially on really difficult days. There are so many great stories that may not otherwise be exposed to the masses except through webtoons. I also like the ability to support artists and authors through platforms like Patreon (because you all deserve ALL your coins) so their voices and stories can be heard. Lastly, webtoons have expanded the number of genres I’ve become interested in reading. I was never really into romance until webtoons. Now I can get enough! Additionally, I get to share the stories I read with my high school students, which allows us to get to know each other AND may influence kids who don’t read interesting in reading (my ultimate trump card in getting students to read #EnglishTeacherGoals). Overall, webtoons are just the bees knees and I just love them. 😍
This is awesome that you're doing a giveaway!!! For me if I were to be in the world of SZ I'd have to try all that delicious food that Clove and Kyro get to eat at all the festivals.🤤 As well as wear the beautiful clothes that Kharis and Clove wear. 😍
I look forward to my webcomics each week. I save the muti-day ones for Fridays and the once-a-week ones for Sundays. They define my weekend and are an extra boost of creativity to get my artist brain moving. Thanks for being part of that boost :)
Hi June!! Thank you for another giveaway! We appreciate all that you do! 🫶🏾 As for my entry (lol)— Webcomics affected my life way back in middle school. I wanted to write epic stories and make my own comics, but I could barely draw, and my writing—while it had a lot of heart— was very…chaotic to say the least. When I stumbled upon webtoon, which my first intro to webcomics, I was so inspired that I got back into drawing and writing after having taken an indefinite break. It’s actually what got me into digital art (I got my first tablet about 5-6 years ago! How time flies, sigh), and I’ve improved so much! I even started planning for my own webcomic one day. I hope to inspire others like my favorite creators have done for me. As for right now, I’ve got my characters designed and I just put them in cute little AU scenarios, haha. But it’s crazy to look back now. It was so long ago when I first found webcomics. They’ve become a part of my daily routine, reading webtoons and manhwas in my free time, finding new artists to support and learning new things every day. It’s a constant flow of inspiration and admiration that lights up my day and my life. I’m super happy to have found my way here.
Q1. Webcomics just brings a certain so many emotions to my life. I feel like apart of the story a lot of times. Or at least wish I was part of the story. Webcomics feel like family to me. Just for fun Q2. I wish I could be the one married to Kyro and go through finding ourselves and fighting against the forces that are against us
Web comics effect my life by letting me escape into a new place. When reading a story I really like I easily get sucked into the story. And I always want to know more. Whether it be what happened before the current events, or what would happen if things went differently.
😍😍 I need those stickers! So if I entered the world of SZ, I'd have to be like the wise old lady gossip spilling the tea around court 🤣🤣 I figured that world doesn't have therapists, so that would be the next best thing 🤣🙌🏻
HUHU I feel the same!!
Thank you for opportunity! Webcomics have meant a lot to me, specifically SZ. I discovered it (and webtoon in general) shortly after having my son and was dealing with postpartum depression so the worlds were a wonderful escape. ❤️
That is such a sweet personal story thank you so much for sharing! <3
