Song 8: 'The Night Belongs to Me'

I have been chewing my nails off over this one for like 3 weeks. Audio engineer and instrument peeps spent a lot of time on it. X.X

I have one more coming before the end of the year, maybe. I wanted to go back to what I did for ' Too Bright to Touch'. It had a very garage band feel haha. And I think somewhere along the way I was letting stuff get overproduced and putting my hand too much into the instrumental and engineering part of the process.

I trust my people, both my friends that help on instruments and the audio engineer I hire to produce the music I make. And I want to stress that; Without the help I get doing this stuff it wouldn't be possible. I mean sure, I pay audio engineer, but no one is making him answer my rants and rambles at 2am when I'm spinning the fuck out about a segment. xP

I use AI-generated instrumentals early in the creative process to explore rhythm and direction. We then build a rough backing track using virtual instruments for me to sing over. My friends in the band perform the instrumental parts, and a paid audio engineer brings those performances together with my vocals, mixing and mastering the finished song.

For the last two songs of the year, I wanted to get out of my own head and let Levi tell her story.

This was supposed to be finished for the Levi comic (LOL). Obviously, that did not happen.
