Let's talk about animations!
Heya!
Rin X Lara is still not done , I promise it's priority #1 right now and I'm grinding to get it done. Took on a life of its own a lil bit lol.
BUT, in the meantime I'm messing with animations on the side. Obviously. Nothing Happened Animated was a hit, which is great , and that's rendered in my normal artstyle. If you had to describe my standard style, it's probably glossy anime semi-realism with some painterly added in. That's a far cry from the plain anime a lot of people do, especially Japanese creators , and that's by design. It's mature and Western-influenced without spilling over into that crazy dark fantasy "you can't fix me" type of girl type shi every Western AI creator posts. Shit's boring.
So why are we talking about this? Refer to exhibit A up there and Sabine getting it on with her man. (Thx for the voice acting btw if you're reading this lmao.) I can already animate in my own style , I need to improve, but Nothing Happened proved that if I bang my head against the wall enough, I can make it happen. And lately I've been experimenting with a bunch of different artstyles just to see what sticks.
That video up there is still based on my art, but it's MUCH more standard anime/doujin style animation , and it's a lot easier to animate at times. So looking forward at longer, more involved projects, I just wanted your opinions on that style, ONLY ONLY ONLY for animations.
To be clear: standard Levi artstyle isn't going anywhere. It stays the majority , if not all , of comic/pack content, and the foundation of animations too. That will never not be the case. If I used something like this, it'd purely be a fun, novel "if Levi-verse were an anime, it might look like this" kind of episodic thing. But I don't want to chase threads that don't land with you all.
So take a look and let me know what you think. They'd be voiced, same as my other stuff , just a style I pull out occasionally for some episodic novel fun.
I'll be back as soon as I can with Rin's estate part 2!

Quality over quantity imo. One of the things that drew me was the quality of your pictures. I perfer the style used in "Nothing Happened" or the same twitter clip of Sabine as a baseline, for what is to in store for us. I don't mind waiting for quality stuff. As for the this style, if it can be used as a means to get better and it eventually gets replaced with the same quality as "Nothing Happened" or something else I don't mind.
The way I look at it, your main art style like for "Nothing Happened' and your new clip with Levi looking in the mirror is always gonna be the preferred style because to me, your main style represents Rave as a whole. The foundation & tone you have established is what sets you apart from any other creator in the space. It also says when you're using your style, that there's lore implications that stand out more and there's more of a spotlight to those scenes that deserve the "high impact" production, even if they're short. The animation style in question I do feel has a place in the 'Levi-verse' and I do see them being used for Rave's "slice of life" moments. Short, snippet moments of levity, small tragedies & goofy moments. I'm not sure if you yourself would consider these types in this animation style "low impact" or any animations for that matter, but if this helps relieve pressure for your main style to have the full attention it needs for its stories, then you another way to present the little moments. Plus we want to protect Levi's head at all costs from any further damage. I've read and I'm sure I'm echoing everyone else by shortly saying your main style is always gonna be the preferred. But personally to me, the style in question feels like it does have a place in the 'Levi-verse' and I enjoy them both equally.
Definitely your orginal style. Iprefer to wait longer and get an animated version with orginal art style , and not the one above.
Your artstyle is very unique and well polished but thats not is only charm your "director work" makes it 10/10 everytime. Like in the"Nothing Happened" animation before to me it was special because it felt more natural than anything else I saw, most of times its like a giff not in a bad way but in yours I felt the passion and it was natural and hot + the voice acting was top notch. Ii dont think it would be bad if you use the other annimation style .
To be honest, the clip with Sabine that you posted on twitter looks better. The art style is more you compared to this. This still looks good but not as good as your usual stuff, like the twitter clip, that art style is 10/10
Levi’s Creations has become a iconic brand in its own way. Your signature style, artwork, the small touches of creativity that has influenced us all. I love your artwork and style, and I honestly I find myself more invested in your OC characters myths and stories even more. The alternate characters in conjunction with the OC is always beautiful to behold. But If you need to dabble in alternative animation styles to add to your story telling, then Why not? But do try and keep to your own style and what you want to achieve. ;)
I don't see a problem using this style for the animations. I'd love to see longer vids
I think many people here share the same braincell as I do, it doesn't matter what style you go with, we know it's gonna be good regardless (and no, this isn't simp mode) I can see that "nothing happened" was unique because you've already had the foundations to work that to an amazing result! The above Sabine and her man not bitching out on her (lol) animation was cute and resembles some of the higher-quality-rated non-studio quality (think MapleStar if you were to compare), but it's still easily recognisable as YOUR style. but to be perfectly honest? I believe having the NSFW stuff with its own unique animation style would show the big difference; it's like having a team dedicated to producing a film version, a TV series version, and an OVA version of the same product. It all comes from your big brain, so it'll be good no matter what kind of animation style you pick =)
Are you encouraging her to create a OC Multiverse? Not that she hasn’t already. :p
Personally like "your" style, it has always stood out and attracted my attention. Understand the demands of production though. Thanks for asking for our opinion. Have a great week!
No matter what, you always put in the time and effort into creating these and I cant help but be in aw at your hard work Levi. Seriously you're amazing, keep at it. 🌹🌹🌹
Will keep it short and simple. Your style > this style >>> anything else
100% agreed with this opinion.
The part that matters is you, not how you manifest. If you *want* to use this style to designate these shorts as experimental, GREAT! If you're worried you can't make them fast enough so you're trying to compromise and don't actually want to use only part of your normal style, I'd say you either should slow down because we'll wait till YOU like them, or maybe its time to train some LoRAs to do some of your standard steps? My main point is that when you like what you're doing, we'll love what you're doing.
I personally like the original style, that’s what separates you from all the other creators in the platform. That being said, if this other art style makes it easier to give more content I’m all for it, it does look good, and it may even be kind of a novelty every once in a while. Either way I’ll still be here for the content because it is awesome
Your animation and artsytle is what makes it unique but if its more easier for you to do it the other way then by all means
Personally, I love the original artwork you have given us, but do understand the complexity of animating that same artwork. If it's for episodes I think it's worth the change in art style. (Mainly so you don't hit your head off the wall in frustration.). Also knowing that episodes could possibly be longer, maybe more consistent in the future could bring the Levi-verse to a fuller existence, if that makes sense. Either way, keep it up and can't wait to see what you do. (Put the pillow at the wall, then hit your head against it, you'll get more hits per damaged cell. The more you know)
I agree with this opinion
Either or~ your normal Levi style I think looked amazing animated and your version of the artsy anime style also looks very very good~ both are wonderful~ but your main style I think looks the best~
I mean as long as it’s you making it and the art style isn’t too far off of yours we’ll be aight
Why Imma post some other chuds stuff to my paid patreon tf. It aint gonna be good enough. THe ONLY exception and help I get is for music, and thats because I cant play instruments other than piano or mix/master. WHERE SKADI PIC
