TRAVEL NEWS: Studio 346 is Going to Amherst!
Hello all, we have an exciting announcement tonight! Ever since our visit to the 2023 National Narrow Gauge Convention, we've been chomping at the bit to bring our game-in-progress to more places, but our top priority has always been to advance it forward in its development, and as we've developed the game further, the old NNGC build becomes more and more dated as we make strides in new features, expanded functionality, and improved fidelity. We knew that if we were going to do this again, we had to ensure that there would be a decent amount of new things to add to the experience, and so with that in mind...
We will be hosting a couple of booths at the 2027 Amherst Railroad & Hobby Show on the east coast, where convention-goers will be able to play a curated internal build of Century of Steam in its current state, with brand-new equipment, new gameplay, and a new location! Our lead 3D artist Daniel has crafted and revealed the engine behind our company name and silhouette, D&RGW C-19 number 346 as she appeared as leased power on the C&S mere days before the fateful wreck which, in a miraculous and roundabout way, ensured her escape from the scrapper's torch. You can put your hand on the throttle and experience our coal firing simulation up the grades of the continental divide in this modernized Baldwin 10-26E in a little slice of San Juan, where mining riches, coal, oil, general merchandise, and unquantifiable amounts of sheep all have places to be.
Information about the train show, location, attendance etc. can be found on the Amherst Railway Society's Website:

So guys- Look. I know that everyone is going to be asking for this. I know that y'all have a lot you want to work on other than this - But gosh, it would be awesome if you released this as a public demo after the train show. Yes, it would be more work. But it would get a lot more attention for the game, and hence more people signing up for the patreon. I know that this is a labor of love for y'all, not strictly business only, but that is a simple fact, if you got more patrons, it would help development, and as a fan of this game, I want y'all to have all the development help you can. Further, getting it into the hands of more people would get you some good real world playtesting, more of an idea of how to tweak minute systems, all that stuff. Yes, it is transparent that I am suggesting this because I really, really, really would like to play the game, and I know many others would too. But I do really think that it would be a great thing for the game to have a small piece we could play ahead of a full release. Nevertheless, it is up to y'all's discretion. I'm excited to see video of the demo, and everything y'all are making down the line, good luck on getting all this stuff ready for Amherst!
We’ll be taking feedback from the Amherst Play Test and go from there.
Nice but way to far for me from Germany. Wish all of you there a good time and please, let us see a bit of it, who can't get there ❤️
All joking, aside, really excited to see where this goes for y'all, hope we can get some footage of goings on at the show
You smell that..... its a smell, a smelly smell that smells.....smelly.....O________O KENOSHA
Will this demo be coming to Steam after the convention is over?
We’ll be taking feedback from the Amherst Play Test and go from there.
This is crazy congrats to you guys for getting the chance to showcase the game like this, you’ve deserved it. It’s Surreal that we get to see the big Colorado map come into the fold like this after all this time. I would *love* to see a public demo at some point, but even if not I’m looking forward to a potential dev vlog showcasing the demo for the event.
I know early access is not planed but are there plans for a demo? Upside is it would get a basic version of the game into many hands before release and you and you will be able fix some of those bugs you will never see until the games in the hands of the masses before the full release.
YOOOOO I may be able to go to this!! I've been to the Big E before (it's great) and I'm close enough to make the trip. I never even knew about the railroad show over here. It would be amazing to check it out and get to see y'all, talk about the game, and play a demo 😍
*yearly screams of yet another cool thing isnt in the midwest where he can get to it*
Oh my God, I’m so excited
I saw this and was like, HOLY SHIT. Then i realisted i live and germany and don't have time to come. ):

*spits out morning drink* another chance to play a century of steam demo!? Are you kidding me? I'm going to make all the time in the world to be there! Now I'm super duper excited! 😄🎉🚂 Edit: oh my God, I just realized it's Grandma! Fitting of course, but still a surprise! 😄🚂
Do we get simulated plow operations when the nor'easter hits this year?
