Flag Stop! GEX3341 aka Flatty McFlatface
Hello all! It's said that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but even three eyes will have a hard time beholding this thing. Ian is another new face at Studio 346, and his excellent GE shovel nose captures all of the quirks and oddities of the prototype, as well as some man-made horrors beyond our comprehension! It was a chance encounter that brought him onboard, but we're glad to have him and his expertise on GE and especially GE export locomotives, as the shovels were not just made for the White Pass & Yukon of Alaska & Canada, but countless railroads around the world, so we hope this feels like a little slice of home for some of our international supporters, especially those in South America where these were especially popular.
Enjoy!

Will a dual end shovel nose be available? Might be handy for speedy passenger services.
The meme animation continues to improve and makes me cackle every time. Please continue to do this.
A-B-A set superiority
Never mind the B units, some of those export models looked like they were twin cab / double-enders. The horror!
The B unit jab at the Haysi RR was actually appreciated. You did a fantastic job. The modeling work Ian and others do is 11/10ths. (Also an SP Shovel Face). Thanks 346 folks. To quote kAN, “Sir out there whiskey bottle down”
What a fun engine to model thanks Ian (hope that's spelled right)
You got me with Jonathan Frakes there at the end 🤣
Definitely running these in A-B-B-A configuration.
The B Unit bit made me laugh out loud.
1:51 needed some seconds to find the difference in the GE logo :D
I’ve gotten to see the shovel noses at Skagway and they’ve had a place in my heart ever since.
I have a question. If you dont have the front MU added will all the locos work together? And will all the model you showed be available to get?
What a cool little locomotive, and very well presented.
I hope Ian gets to return with future endeavors! Love the shovels and he very much had a great way to present his work.
Hurray for yet another CoS video teaching me about locomotives I’ve never heard of on a railroad whose existence they revealed to me.
I do hope that B unit will show up in game, even if it isn't present historically. Fantastic model!
This is going to sound silly but I didn’t even think this variant was within scope for the game, I’m glad it made it though. This looks incredible, super excited to see this in game
The B unit might be fictional but the question remains: will it be available in the game?
This might just be my favorite locomotive out of the ones you've shown so far, with the Mule's Relief being a close second - mind you I've not heard of either before watching these videos. So already I'm learning things about 3ft history! Will this remain Ian's only contribution as a contractor or will we get to see more awesome models from him? As awesome as all these big powerful machines are I would love to see some more early locomotives and also small teeny tiny ones for short branch lines and switching work. In any case, great work as always, especially from Ian in this case!
I’d also love to see some smaller and early locomotives. I’d love to see a 0-6-2 tank locomotive and the Baldwin class 12D(D&RG class 35) and of course the Baldwin class 8 1/2C(D&RG class 25 aka the Montezuma).
This’ll be perfect for my Black Meet & Cornelius
Now we need the passenger equipment for a streamliner
What a fantastic surprise!! Great job Ian and the S346 team!
3 ft SP ABBA sets!? Please don't threaten me with a good time like that
Thanks for all the work guys!
You guys are great 😁 Thanks! Great stuff...
Reject modernity, return to shovel!
Is that a new remix of some old music? Sounds nice. 🙂
B&M!
Is that the side of a rotary I spot in the back at 5:03?!😲😲😲
Somehow I am not convinced you made those up, even with the admission, but i am also too lazy to check. On another note that game looks too smooth to be a UE5 game. Are you just throwing yes power at it for the videos? Did you disable lumen/nanite? Or did you sacrifice your cute mascot to the optimization gods while noone was looking?
Rico is a toon. You throw them at the volcano gods and they'll come back since only the dip can kill them. Perfect repeat sacrifice. 🤣
What a weirdo. I love it! I was wondering if we we're going to get any other diesels, glad something so unique is being added. All this WP is giving me a hankering for Alaska. Ah well there's always post release.
This is a fantastic looking model and I can't wait to get my hands on it when the game comes out! I don't think any of the other diesels made me this excited, even the DL535 and I genuinely love that thing!
Summer option AND a B unit? It's magnificent, thank you! (single tear)
Another wonderful showcase! Maybe a suggestion for a future flagstop: another whistle/horn showcase, as it is quite a while ago that we heard the latest wonders of Hyasynth.
I can confirm this is on the timeline and should be showing up once we can get Mark back from his travels :)
Lovely locomotive, I'm now traumatized by the B unit
Does this mean we have a streamliner in CoS?
Ostensibly, insofar as a brick _can_ be streamlined.
Love the new diesel, seems you have a well rounded roster from hood units to cab units to an end cab switcher. I also appreciate the fact that you made a fictional B-unit for the shovel nose after all you can't spell cab without both A and B (As for the C, well it's a cab unit. because of how it's designed you can only really C ahead of you). Edit: Also B&M Maroon scheme, LETS GOOOOOO!
That joke is amazing, but the rules declare that you must be limed. 🍋🟩
Another quirky weird looking locomotive I'm on top of the Moon. Love the edits very fun.
Can we get a chromed out version to cosplay as a Zephyr?
Beautiful friend shaped machines! I'm glad you're all giving a little bit of love to Latin America we had a fair bit of amazing railroads and rolling stock. I myself am Puerto Rican and I used to work as a historian for the only railroad museum on the island. (PR is technically a part of the USA...) While our trains were actually *meter gauge* and not 3 foot... I'm sure we could pass some 3 foot gauge engines for one of our own. I love the work that everyone at studio 346 is doing, and I look forward to more. I'd love to help one day if possible. Until then keep going!!
YES!! THANK YOU IAN!! YESSS!!!! SHOVEL NOSE LFG!!!!!!
Loving the different liveries, they all work so well on a shovelnose! The ATSF Amos & Andy scheme as well as the ATSF Cat Whiskers scheme are really sharp! Also, loving Minuteman Rico at 5:03 🙏
There’s so much autism in this video. And that’s what I love to see from the dev team of a train game. Bravo
B(uh) Unit!! Let's go!!!
Glad to see that Century of Diesels is well underway. In all seriousness, I’m having a hard time keeping track of everything you guys have unveiled. Is there any way we could get a list of shown or *confirmed* rolling stock?
You know, that's a good idea. I'll see what we can do!
Welcome aboard Mr Ian! You work was beautiful, l really felt so real it felt like it was going to drive off the screen🙂, Also be careful gentlemen the power to create your own locomotive models can lead to designes one might consider.... Unnatural 😈🚂 Keep up the amazing work!! 😄😊🚂 P.S poor IRL white pass shovels I feel sad 😢🚂
I am absolutely frothing, its so peak
B
It is too nice that we get a lot of smaller, more frequent videos. Good luck with the big challenge of multiplayer! Greets from Germany
Heyyyyyyy, there's a video this time
Hey! Hey.
I thought I was loosing it for a minute lol
Third time’s the charm!
