Modern, Legacy, and Some Exciting Updates
Hey everyone! We have several topics today, let's get started:
Modern and Legacy
Since Modern Horizons 3 came out, I've tried new ideas to fine-tune Dredge decks in Legacy and Modern.
Like many other Legacy players, I used to have some biases against Modern. There are just too many banned cards! Bridge from Below, Faithless Looting, Golgari Grave-Troll, Hogaak...
But guess what? I was pleasantly surprised! The format is super interesting now, and Dredge is a blast to play in the current Modern scene after an important addition...
I've already tested a Sultai list that plays a lot like Blue Dredge in Legacy. You can check out my first league with this deck by clicking HERE.
The deck isn't perfectly tuned yet, and I'm planning to play about 10 more leagues this week to nail down the best version. I'll share my thoughts and the first sideboard guide next week.
And what about Legacy?
OUCH.
We were all expecting Grief to get banned last week to make the format fun again because the competitive scene is swarming with Scam decks, and most of the community is tired of such a repetitive play pattern.
For our deck, UB Scam and UB Reanimator/Rescamimator are fairly balanced matchups, except when the opponent lands a Dauthi Voidwalker, and we don't have an answer in time. But the other decks have been packing up to 10 graveyard hate cards in their sideboards, making our life tougher.
The last list I posted, using Psychic Frog as an enabler/beater, is an attempt to overcome the excessive graveyard hate we're facing lately. When our enablers can also attack, we're less vulnerable to hate. We do lose points against control decks, but they've almost disappeared from the format due to the success of Scam package decks.
For those playing at your local game store (LGS), the situation can be different. Each local metagame can vary a lot from the competitive meta, and maybe your opponents are running other archetypes besides Scam. How's it going for you? How have your results been with the deck in your local scene?
…
My apologies
Over the last two weeks, and especially the past month, my posting frequency has dropped a lot. I've been dealing with some tough personal situations in my life, including family illnesses, and my laptop even broke. During this time, a few of your direct messages piled up, but I believe I've managed to respond to all of them by now.
If I missed anyone, feel free to message me again—I'm back online and ready to go!

Updates – Daily Content!
Starting today with lots of energy, we’ll have a more frequent flow of posts and daily videos. I’m a new creator, but I’m committed to expanding my content for you all!
Starting next Monday, this is our updated schedule of content:
Mondays: A new YouTube video featuring Modern, Pauper, Pioneer, or Vintage Dredge. For the next month, Modern will likely be the main focus on Mondays.
Tuesdays: A deeper, longer article on Patreon about more dense topics. This article might include comprehensive sideboard guides for a new deck or detailed guides on aspects of the game across multiple formats.
Tuesdays (occasionally): Livestream on YouTube (“Dredgeful Night!”) playing with decks chosen by the channel’s audience. This event won’t be weekly yet, as I’m reorganizing some personal commitments, but it’s likely to become a regular event soon.
Wednesdays: A new Legacy video on YouTube, featuring the most competitive strategies I’m developing. This could include new deck updates, or experiments with established builds like Blue Dredge, Turbo Dredge, and Rainbow Dredge.
Thursdays: A new post on Patreon about the current metagame in various formats, just like this one! I’ll soon start playing Pauper/Pioneer/Vintage, and this article will cover those formats too.
Fridays: A new YouTube video, this time testing a less competitive (or curious) strategy for us to have fun and try new things, even within our archetypes. Prison Dredge? Mono Black Dredge? Madness decks? Saga Dredge? Budget lists? White Dredge? This is the day! Send your suggestions.
Saturdays/Sundays: These days are dedicated to competitive tournaments, like Challenges or Regional Championships. Whenever I play in these tournaments, I’ll record the gameplay and make it available exclusively for you. If I achieve significant results, like top 8 or wins, I’ll post the video with my commentary on YouTube a few days later.

Hope you all enjoy the updates!
Dredge isn't just a deck; it's a way of life.
See you soon, and keep dredging!
