Episode 7 - Progress Report #14
Hey everyone
This week I did a lot of work on environments, and started with renders for Day 20.
Here is the progress:
Writing: 95%
Coding: 100%
Environments: 80%
New Characters: 6/6
Renders: 48%
Day 18: 430/430
Day 19: 408/408
Day 20: 90/400
Day 21: 0/700
Post-Processing: 43%
Music/Sound: 0%
Testing/Polish: 0%
The two environments I've been working on are parts of a new apartment you haven't visited before, and a new area at the gym. Ashe will visit both of them during Day 20, with new adventures to be had there in this episode and future ones 馃構.
I was also fighting with the Ren'Py SDK (the visual novel game engine) this week. I wanted to avoid upgrading the Ren'Py version in the midst of development, but I didn't see any other option after having constanst crashes and errors while testing the game. I upgraded the Ren'Py version from 8.0.3 to 8.5.2, which fixed all the issues I was having. Most of you don't need to care about this, since the game will work the same as before, including compatibility with old save files. The players who will be affected however, are players on older Windows versions. Windows 7 and 8 are no longer supported with this new version of Ren'Py. I apologize for that, but unfortunately I didn't find any other way to fix the issues I was having. For all you modders out there, you might need to update your mods as well. The new Ren'Py version will be introduced with the release of Episode 7.

ren'py is a progam for vn's so its intrusting an seeing how it works. for me i use unity and sometimes i use blender in my projects but hit a wall when trying to make something. dont know what to make or how to go by doing it im glade to see your doing good

Good that you made the decision to upgrade when it really affected your workflow! Great to hear everything is working now.
