Episode 6 - Progress Report #18

Hey everyone

I have only a quick update for you since this week has been one for the trash bin unfortunately 馃槚. Starting last weekend I had multiple crashes on my render PC which got progressively worse. I spent my whole week trying to fix these issues, but without success.

I eventually decided to buy a new PC altogether, since I planned on upgrading later this year anyway. Hopefully the new PC will arrive early next week, and things will go back to normal soon.

I didn't lose any data except the things I was actively working on when it crashed. But I currently don't have access to all my files (temporarily), so you might not get a preview on Monday. Sorry.

The good thing coming from all of this, is that the new PC is quite a bit stronger than the old one, and should help with some performance issues I had with the bigger scenes. Render times should also go down a bit, so it's not all bad 馃檪.

鉂わ笍 Thanks for your understanding and patience. Enjoy your weekend! 鉂わ笍

Sorry for all the issues you鈥檙e facing. Funny enough I feel like this is a rite of passage for every avn creator I鈥檝e ever followed. Keep up the good work and we shall wait patiently because your work has been worth the wait.

is it possible to potentially use both pc to speed up rendering time? even if the old one can only handle say 1 at a time would it help in that area I'm just curious

If my old PC was actually working, then maybe. But even then, it's not like it would speed up the process by much. Just to be clear, the render queue runs while I am asleep or at work, so it's not like I'm being slowed down when I sit down to work on the scenes.

Just curious, how much time does it take the PC to render a shot usually, versus how much of your time it takes to compose it? Haha, never touched any tool like this, so always wondered how much a faster PC would speed things like this up.

Scene setup can be wildly different depending on the scene. A simple scene in an existing environment, with one character and a simple pose is done relatively quickly. More characters and props, a new environment, complicated lighting, complicated poses (especially sex scenes) take a lot more time. The initial setup of a scene takes more time than the following images in the same scene, since I often only change camera angles, expressions and partial poses. So, rough estimates: Initial scene setup: 20-90 minutes Each setup after initial scene setup: 10-45 minutes Render time per image: 20-50 minutes
